Cause it's lazy coaching, doesn't get the rest of the team involved. It's a Slippery Slope bro. Keep pressing that red button too much. it wears off.

Mchale and Sampson were pissed that the starters werent able to get into a scoring rhythm and hence relegated to having the bench come in early to for scoring help...

Im not sure if there is a direct correlation, but since PPat hasnt played...the spacing has been better and the 1st team has gotten off to better starts...

That games where Harden sat out did wonders for Lin. Sice then he has looked positively assertive and plays like a starting caliber PG now.

This game today in Houston shows how bad the coaches were with Lin
Lin in games that were not playing well did not have the trust of his coaches
TD playing very bad and has the trust of his coaches

I think the last couple of games has shown us glimpses of what a few of us have continued to post here since the start of the season.
    - Lin and Harden can co-exist, just give them time. Took Wade/LeBron 1.5 seasons
    - TD is not a PG. he's an undersized SG that can be streaky, and you play/ride him for his shooting when he's hot, just don't ask him to playmake
    - Lin/Harden minutes can be staggered, but there's no need to play Lin off the bench.
    - Lin should be primary playmaker and Harden second (what luxury to have Harden as secondary playmaker) both should get screens and PnRs (Rockets should run PnRs to death), and Harden will be more efficient and less gassed in the 4th quarter because of it.
    - shooting slumps are possible for small sample sizes. Lin seems out of it, as is TD. Do you know Lin is shooting near 50% on overall FGs since the home game against the Knicks?
    - Rockets team offense looks better with Lin as primary playmaker
    - Both Greg Smith and Asik owe a lot of their easy opportunities under the basket to Lin and Harden

I really hope we can keep this up. Got a lot of back-to-backs and three 4-5s in the next 30 days.

I know it's too early to say this. But this team is starting to look like OKC(early) except developing a lot faster.

What fascinates me is everybody is fast and agile. You lose focus in one possession, and the guys will zoom right by you.

Actually the last 2 games looked more like the 1st 2 games of the season without the "coaching". It's after the "coaching" that might cause the problem. Harden is way more efficient and more dominant when they don't ask him to handle the ball every possession. Harden is your No 1 option yes. But you can have other ways to involve him in plays and don't need to do so by playing him as the PG.

This is a great post. That play where Harden got a double team on the right wing, passed to Lin on the left wing who passed cross court to Morris for a wide open 3 was beautiful. That is how Lin & Harden should be situated. Both on the wing opposite to there dominant hand. Hopefully we build on this for the next games.

Someone on another site said they saw Jeremy's parents sitting close to the front row behind the bench. He said that he plays better when his mom is in the crowd. Also, getting that monkey off his back with the Knicks game did him good...just like after the first Knicks game.

Not to mention that Lin is a very capable PG if you allow him to be one. Coaching staff gotta realize what they have in their hands and use them better.

"Without a superstar post player, Rockets won't make the playoffs."

Come post-season, you will eat crow w/ tx bbq sauce, and like it.

Agreed. Our team offense flows much better when it's run through Lin rather than Harden. It's not to suggest that Lin is a better floor general, but there's stagnation in the offense and too many isolation plays when Harden is ball-dominant and running the point, and his efficiency decreases.

I think the primary reason is that Harden is the 1st option, so those 24 seconds are on him to find a way to score and the defense just keys in on him. However in these last two games he's just been able to play off-ball, pick and choose his possessions and determine when he wants to assert himself and take over. That's the type of game Harden played at OKC when alongside Westbrook and as you can see, his efficiency has been RIDICULOUS.

We'll continue to have problems though if Parsons and Lin can't consistently hit their threes. Douglas needs more burn with Harden because he's a great complement, but in no way should the same debacle happen tonight that happened regularly where both Harden & Lin sit at the same time for a prolonged period of time with the offense being run through Douglas. He's an undersized SG not a PG. Repeat after me - Douglas is a SG not a PG. Play him in position and he'll be great.

And Greg Smith is phenomenal. We need to give him a couple of possessions where he gets to play in the low-post or get him more looks on rolls. Smith is just a beast, I cannot believe how good he is.

Now all we need is one of the best players in the NBA and we can be like OKC. This team is starting to become exciting, I like what Smith has done and he is only 21. Plus harden is just a beast at the game and Lin has had a good run recently

Where did Morey find Smith?? He was undrafted? Wow.

(Excuse this question from a 2012er.)
