Not if it's against a sub .500 team according to the media.. so this doesn't count unfortunately.

This was a trap game, it happens. Harden still imposed his will on the game. Can't expect a first yr bench to click every time , or they'll be demanding $15 mil contracts or wanting to move like Reggie jackson.

Even when healthy, i feel this team needs a goran dragic. The nba is weak this year , it's on houston to strike when they can. We are contenders and nothing less. Otherwise better teams can zone harden and force role players to beat them - not very confident in that.

    lol

Yeah Dragic off the bench makes sense. And Dragic playing off the ball while Harden runs the offense.

Rockets beating Sixers by 1? "See, we told you they're only good because of the schedule!"
Memphis winning a bunch of games by 1 or 2 points? "These guys are tough and just knows how to win. They are contenders for sure!"

yea just like they almost got rolled by the kings on their home court, and it took a choke job by king to show just how good the grizzlies are. GTFO

@dmorey: We want to win games this year with our defense when our offense struggles. We have done it a few times now #pursuit

you never know with the Grizz, last season after a terrible terrible start they rolled to a 7th seed.

This year they share the best record in the league early on. Unpredictable

It's strange how early on the standings for the wcf seem to be flipped some what. Definitely enjoying the new regime

What a horrible game to watch, but few things:
    - rotation was again solid, as much as people on here like to hate our own players, Garcia did well on defense. He got a steal or two, his hands on a lot of balls and stays in front of his man. Daniels would not have provided that so that's that. How he handled D-Mo, Papa, Canaan & Jet was also very good.

    - Howard can be serious if he wants to, but he needs to stop goaltending and committing those dumb silly fouls. He can stare at the referee and smile all he wants, it's just stupid and I really wonder if this guy is 100% serious out there. His goaltends are not even smart, because they're often short and you can everybody's reaction when he does it. He needs to own up to it and be a man, not get into an argument and say something back when he's done something stupid.

    - Harden is a monster, even in off games, how crazy is that :) he just needs to stop going for the foul call, and wave his arms in the air every single time when he drives. Just finish the damn play and play through the contact. Homers can disagree with other fans all they want, but I get why they say they hate his game. Even on drives where he puts his shoulder into the defender he gets the FTs. That is good for us, but he can finish almost anything and many times looks for it when he has a clear lane to the basket. I hope the referees continue to swallow their whistle when he does that, so the guy will learn. Come on Harden, don't make it so hard on yourself, it's much easier to just make the shot than bump into guys and hope for a whistle. Also, he needs to protect his body more, because I can see him getting hurt.

    - D-Mo was hustling his ass off! He was key to this victory, despite the bigger numbers from H2o. D-Mo played some nice defense, rebounded and blocked some shots.

    - Canaan & Jet provided key baskets, and the latter had some great defensive plays again.

    - Papa had some nice passes and hustle plays, inconsistency on offense is to be expected from a rookie, no worries there.

    - We played down to our competition, did not seem focused at all in the first quarter and even first half, and body language was just terrible. We cannot have anymore of these games, because with Minnesota we also came out with no defense and just a mind-set of "this is a winnable game so we can just play loose out there". We still do not have that killer instinct, that fire and determination of playing hard from the get go and for 48 minutes. That's what bothers me, because Howard & Harden need to show that every single game in order for the rest to follow. Thinking we can turn it up in the 3rd, which unfortunately we can against some teams, is a bad habit dating back to last year. Maybe Memphis needs to give us a good beating so we can learn from it.

Yea, we didn't play down, we played very good D and our guys hustled, just couldn't hit water in the middle of the ocean. No onus on the coach for this.

Can't win them all, pulled this out our ass tho, philly was hot early.

This is really a naive way of thinking, the same type saying the Rockets will have an easy win over the 76ers when seeing Mavs won them by 50+.

What a horrible game. But we won. Nice to see us winning these close games.
Had a bad feeling on this one. No team after getting a drubbing like the 76's copped yesterday are gonna do the same back to back. They came out fighting and playing for pride. (Good on them). Add to that we shot like arse.
Put it behind us and move on. What are we? 8&1? I'll take that any day!
    Go Rockets!
