Good game, we won as expected; but the 4th quarter is a perfect example of why we don't see Vspan, and should expect to see less of JL3 in the future. Listen to the JVG interview, he explains why people here shouldn't be calling for Vspan or any other player to get more minutes. That's why with a 20+ pt lead our main rotation stays in the game until there's about 5min to go when the lead becomes insurmountable. Had we brought these guys in up 30 in the 3rd the 76ers would have a shot to make history on us.

As of now our main rotation
    Rafer/Head
    T-Mac/Bonzi
    Battier
    Howard/Hayes
    Yao/Mutombo

That's an 11 man rotation. But Hayes and Mutombo might as well be one person, as it's either one or the other depending on whether Howard or Yao is in the game. No need to mess with it when we're winning games.

That adds up to 9, not 11. Doesn't affect your point.

    Damn I was close.

I was there and the game was fun, albeit a bit boring after the second...

he put nash ahead of mcgrady, and howard ahead of duncan and garnett. i agree with the nash pick, as he has been playing amazing basketball without any significant absences during the season. and yao is injured, so amare should start...walton's picks aren't that bad, man.

Agreed, which is very small of him.

And again, he knows as well as I do that PGs play is predicated on whom you are passing the ball too.

Playing garbage minutes with end of the bench players is not the same as playing with Tmac and Yao.

Two passes by V-Span were perfect and the players missed the shots.....

Not to say V-Span played well, but I think we can all agree that having him sit at the 3 point line is stupid basketball.

TMAC should be in as SF not PG. So he is putting Josh Howard insyead of TMAC..If Yao is injured he shouldn't be in as even a reserve then...so he is putting Amare ahead of Yao...Bill Walton and Steve Kerr are ****in douches

Not tonight, that is for sure.....

But I would have like to see him in there at the start of the 4th...with a 40 point lead ....JVG should not play a single regular for fear of injury.

I see you have never played team sports because I dont care how good you are perceived to be..Because a coach doesnt talk bad about player if he plays hard and does what the coachs ask him and has a good attitude and dont bring negative energy to the team...and since when do you ask a 5'11 player to rebound vspan should rebound hes 6'4 with a bigger frame...i'm not defending john lucas play but this team can win the nba championship and vspan isnt going to help us win it this year so he needs to just soak up the american game improve his game and prove van gundy wrong next year thats what any player with motivation would do they wouldnt wine...

Hmmm, I wonder what will this statement do to those who keep saying 'Play Vspan!'

I will tell you what it said to me....that JVG is blaming a player who played 5 total minutes tonight for the entire collapse of the 4th quarter.

It tells me that JVG is holding a grudge.

It tells me that JVG is not above being petty and b****ing about someone going to the media, all the while going to the media himself and making underhanded comments about a player.

What ever happened to coaches and players keeping it in house?

I understand why both V_Span and JVG spoke out, but I don't like it.

and how do we know that Van Gundy didn't pull Lucas aside or address it in the locker room? Just because a coach doesn't mention something in a post game conference doesn't mean he doesn't address it with the team or with the player.

Ouch, that was a personal snipe at Vspan for sure, but I'm sure he was mad at all the bench players, not just him.
