If anyone is bullsh!itting on Mike James, they don't know anything. Mike is the reason the Rockets have played well the past couple of games.

I do agree with the Yao statements, but Lamar Odom is HORRIBLE. Anyone who would trade Yao for Odom is out of their mind.

Let Yao live down in Hunters Point in Frisco for a month He would come out hard or not come out at all.

Ok, Odom just scored 11 pts in a must win game against boston. So, he is not much better than Yao either. :D

my bright idea for next year:

    Sura/James
    Wesley
    TMac
    Howard/Swift/whatever
    Badaine

Let's send Yao to play in Europe instead!!:D

I wasn't able to see the game tonight, and I don't know what the situations were, but the first thing that jumped out at me is that Mike james took 22 shots. 3 more than McGrady and 13 more than Yao. Maybe all of his FGA's were all in the rhythm of the game, but I don't like it. Sure he had 24 points, but is he really getting the others involved? He's been taking shots away from Wesley and Yao since he's been here. I know that hes avg like 23ppg in his 3 games with the rockets, but we're 1-2. I'm not a Mike James hater, but I can't wait for Sura to come back so James can do whatever he wants against the opponents 2nd teamers.

Yeah and the dude got 13 boards. The Odom trade I proposed was not just for Odom. It would have included Butler and Mihm. The trade would have offloaded Maurice Taylor too. Damn, dude. Look at the entire trade package. The Van Gundys know how to use Odom. Odom would be putting up 20/10 with the Rockets.

The NBA is changing. The handchecking rules are making mobile big men more important than ever before.

What is Yao's problem? Like I say it's a mystery to me. The guy is a 7'6 yet shoots fade aways. Likes to spin baseline, and get called offensive fouls a lot on that. Offensively Yao just needs to shoot straight up and develop a hook shoot. Why all these fancy moves. His best move, catch, turn and shoot no dribble.
Now dont even get me start on rebounding and defense.

Yeah dude. Keep on with that delusion that Yao is actually a great player.

Stop making F****** excuses for him! NO ONE wants to trade him, that is not the answer! What? Do we OWE freakin' Ming anything? He is getting paid alright the last time I checked, and will cash in pretty damn well in a few months!

You guys are COMPLETELY missing the point here: there are some players that can fill up stats like there is no tomorrow, but they STILL never step up in the clutch. T-Mac is freakin' clutch, there is no way to prove that anymore than he has so far in the season, and I can't wait for the playoffs to see what he can do in close games. Yao on the other hand? Well, you know the answer there...

So just because Yao is a 7'6" cash cow we won't bow down to him and treat him more special than any other player on the team. HE owes us the fans and the team to be in tip-top physical/mental state to help the team win. THAT is what great players do.

I get sick of hearing people all the time reminding us of how special Yao is or how grateful we should be. If he is not grateful to be here around a supportive organization and earn his respect from the fans, instead of having it given to him because he already has a loyal support-base of 1.3 billion people, then we definitely should look elsewhere.

I don't want the guy traded, I love the guy, but he DEFINITELY is hurting us when it counts. I don't care if Yao scores 20 points in the fourth quarter in a blowout win, I care if he makes the 2-pointer or the free throw that wins a close game for us...

If you think Odom+Tmac is better than Odom+Kobe, you are crazy.

    WELL SAID!!!

Give me a break people! So, Yao hasn't had one of his better stretches of games since the break, and yes he is inconsistent, but please don't give me all this hypocritical crap you guys are spewing out. Y'all are just justifying every stereotype of a Houston fan. Let me remind y'all again.

Only 24 yrs. old, only 3rd year in the league, 18+ points & 8+ rebounds per game, trying to re-learn the game from what he has played all his life, still adjusting to a new culture and way of life, steadily learning the mentality to dominate, playing with the hopes and heroism placed upon him as, not only the first foreign born player to picked 1st overall but, the icon of a whole country.

You guys talking about Deke should be starting and that JVG not having the guts to make the change, let me ask you this? Do you truely believe that JVG of all people (a coach that just about every poster on this board believes will not develop young players), would sacrifice wins to play Yao and, if Deke feels as if he is better starting for this team, why would he be so comfortable being the backup?

Fact is that big men take MUCH longer to develop in this league than anyone else. Just ask those Washington fans that still expect more from Haywood and Brown after 4 seasons or Portland fans who wish they would have hung on to O'Neal while he was still struggling. Coaches, players and hall-of-famers have all raved about his ability and what he will become. He needs the experience, he needs an offseason to really hone his skills, he needs to get fully acclimated with playing with and through his teammates, and he needs to find his full confidence. It will come, it's only a matter of time.

How about giving opposing players' play and coaches' strategy some credit rather than automatically jumping to Yao playing horrible or "like a p***y". Opponents work their gameplans around defensing Yao and keeping him off the boards. Tonight, they have some very athletic big men who swarm the ball. Give Haywood props on that last shot. Yao played pretty damn well and he made a great, all be it probably lucky, shot to ice the game.

I'm sure I'll be labeled a YOF for this little rant, but I really don't give a damn. I love Yao as I love every other Rocket and I feel DAMN FORTUNATE that he will be the franchise center for years to come. He may not be a top 10 center of all time once his career is finished, but he will be a great player. GUARANTEED!

    come on guys.

it feels really good to belittle yao after a tough loss, but if Yao can consistently get 20 -9 (r) 2 (a) 2(to) 2 (b). This team can compete with any team.

    let's show some love :)
