There goes McHale again blaming his own incompetence on the flu.

When was the last time you've seen a coach NOT have a time out to call at the end of the 4th quarter. There was at least 1.8 seconds even after the failed rebound.

    Agreed.

I think it's Finch's offense though. Isn't he the chosen one to take over when Mchale leaves?

    That's no excuse.

If you're feeling ill and you can't contribute well, then don't play. Nobody will blame you for sitting out for illness. It happens.

However...if you say you're good enough to play, you have a standard to hold up. Just because you're sick, doesn't mean you can just throw out some garbage performance and think it's okay.

When I have the flu, I feel like I'm going to die. I can't imagine playing a game, let alone against a team playing really well right now. Maybe they were so shorthanded they had no choice but to play Lin. Good try, Rockets.

    So you're 100% confident we'll beat the Thunder/Spurs/Clippers in a 7 game series?

Yeah that's part of it. Lin is such a tease, he shows flashes of being a star, then the next day he looks like he belongs in the D-League.

On the bright side, this game made me remember how much it sucked when Ariza was our go-to guy :)

I disagree. In bball if you can hold a ball and you can run and you can put up a shot, then you can play. The only times you can't play outside of injury if when there's a family emergency, or when you're simply incapable of playing (throwing up, extreme coughing, etc) ala food poisoning or a virus.

But the flu? All NBA players are expected to play through a flu.

Guys if you have a cold it does not affect you immediately.... It takes time for the bacteria/virus to spread around...

There's a difference between thinking it's ok to play horribly vs having the will to play but the body can't give you the output.

Think about that for a second. Kobe couldn't, Chandler couldn't do it.

Down to 9 players. Sure....our starting PG should just take the night off.
He shot the ball poorly but played good defense and got some assists. Harden didn't bail us out with an incredible game. It happens.

seems kinda dumb to let him play if he has a cold.
the other players could easily catch it from him.
