    Great game tonight!!

Yao finally bounced back from a series of forgettable performances and played like a big man. I would like to see the same type of effort from him more consistently, starting tomorrow against that WalTuh McCarty.

Steve had a great all-around game and almost got his tripple double. However, I would like to see him cutting down those turnovers. Otherwise he may get a double-digit TO and that wouldn't look good on the stats sheet.

Kelvin Cato!! Kelvin Cato!! Wow!! Wow!!

And it was nice to see Boki finally get on the court.

    The difference is twofold:

    1. Francis doesn't wear out on back-to-backs like Yao does.
    2. The Rockets have no legit b/u at Steve's position, so JVG doesn't have much choice but to play Steve at crunch time. I'm sure he'd love to rest him, but that isn't an option with Wilks as your b/u.

Steve got sloppy in the 4th, but this was one of the more under control games he has played. He shot 7-12 from the floor and had 9 assists and 3 turnovers at the end of the third. Three of the last four turnovers he got came in the final two minutes of garbage time.

I agree Jeff, but Mike Wilks is a god to some people around here. Didn't we have a thread recently stating the rockets record when Wilks plays?

My post has nothing to do with people arguing wheather Yao should play the 4th. It is just kind funny. On the other hand, yao should not play the 4th in this game in my opinion. He is a big man and he carrys more weight than most other players on the court.

cf.net's front pic does not justify it, but yao is becoming bigger and more muscular with the progress of this season. he is not going to be 'soft' for ever.

Great job by Yao ... Keep it up. I think he really got fired up after that hard foul by Brendan Haywood. I hope he can play like this more often.

Great job by Steve too. He could have had a lot more assists. There were plenty of times where he penetrated and kicked it out to a wide open man and they just missed the shots. He got a little excited at times and had too many TOs(especially the behind the back one). Overall great game though.

Minus a few minutes lapse in the game .. This is how the Rockets should play every game!

That's indeed very funny. Too bad, Jeff didn't get it. BTW, I don't think there is any problem padding a player's stat (like to get a triple double) once a win is ensured.

Why risk the injury? How will personal stats help the team?

Hey, players are just people. Besides, how many players have got injured during garbage time when no defense is being played?

Exactly. I can't believe some of the reaction here... you'd think we had another disaster of a game. Yao was sitting on the bench laughing and joking with Ewing through much of the last quarter. The guy is probably thinking of the hot tub at the hotel after the trainer gets through trying to rub out the soreness he's going to get from putting a dent in the hardwood.

Get a grip. Did some of you complaining even watch the game??

If no defense is being played, then what are the stats worth?

Doesn't deny the fact that he is a third rate scrub on a crappy team. So what he had one decent game. IF my memory serves correct, John Amaechi also had a good game once. And your argument that Steve was the point at Mland etc etc, is garbage. Steve played more Off gaurd than point. And the reason they won it all was Dixon, with a little help from blake, and baxtor wilcoz Dont make it look like it was Steve Blake who led them to the championship.

Even if it was him, that doesn't mean anything. College success doesn't always measure into NBA skills. Jay Will was a stud, ended up backing up Crawford.(this is before the accident). Laetner, nothing but a second rate starter in the NBA, was probably one of the best College players of his time. I could go on all day...
