    First Game Ingredients:

GS is heavily favored, no one (but us) thinks the Rockets will win.

GS hasn't played in a while, knows that they beat us 4-0 and they don't lose at home. (Overconfidence?)

Rockets are on the upswing, have warmed up, approaching a hot streak?

Harden has been relatively steady but not MVP level; time to flip the switch.

Limit turnovers, play tough defense, take it inside, shoot well

    Win game one!

    Let's bake this cake!

I also think Warriors defense has not been playoff tested by a good offensive team. Pelicans/Grizzilies does not count. They have good perimeter defenders, but their only rim protector is Bogut. But Bogut is no DeAndre Jordan. Rockets need to relentlessly attack the rim to get Bogut in foul trouble. Harden/JSmoove/Howard.

This GS team would crush that Phoenix team. Unlike that Suns team, the Warriors actually play defense.

This was a good game this year if we had Dwight in playoff form we win this one easily. Rockets about to shock the Warriors.

    More love from ESPN
Apparently they see it as Warriors vs. Golden ST.

Crush? Not so sure about that.. Amare was pretty beastly back then and Marion was better than any of their current wings.

It'd be a crazy shootout that went 7 with warriors prob winning but like I said the Warriors haven't been tested defensively.

Their points do not make any sense in regards with how Houston has been playing lately. The Grizzlies had a banged up team that gave the Warriors trouble but once Allen went out with the hamstring injury it was all over. It will fun to watch the Rockets in this series.

I've been trying to avoid all ESPN BS all day and will be probably avoiding it all series, even if we win games or not.

I already know what they are going to say/write that it's pointless. Everyone in the media is just repeating the heavily biased non-sense some 15-year old Curry/Warrior bandwagoner is posting on reddit or any other social media site.

Game will not be one on chat forums or by the media, they will be won on the court. Rockets have a good, or even better, chance that anyone in this league of knocking out the "destined-championship" Warriors so let them do the "talking".

    Perspective, folks.

Similarities are just that. No matter the similarities GS is not the 2005 Phoenix Suns.

GS lost home court the very first game to Memphis and came back to win that series convincingly.

The Rockets "comeback" in Game 6 had to happen because they found themselves down 19 points at the close of the 3rd quarter. Play like that against good teams and on average you won't make that "comeback." The TO's are still the Rockets Achilles heel (along with poor FT shooting by bigs).

Harden isn't (or shouldn't be) into proving anything personally. He already has a tendency to play a little too "ISO" and dribble too much, impeding ball movement. If his teammates want to add "WE want to show WE think James is every bit as deserving of the MVP award..." to their incentive to play their best, then I say good. But don't expect or want Harden to make a statement. GS plays very good team ball and the Rockets will have to do the same to stay with them.

Bottom line: As McHale put it, before Game 7 against the Clippers, whichever team "keeps it clean" -- minimal TO's -- rebounds and doesn't have a poor shooting night, will win. I hope the energy level isn't so high that dumb, unforced TO's get the Rockets in a hole early.

We'll know more about the "personality" this series is taking on after 3 games.

I'm so excited for tonight! This is going to be a tough series (I think if we beat the Warriors, the finals opponent would be easier), but I can't believe we are 4 wins from the NBA finals. It's been such a long time since we've been playing this late in May.

Clutch city lives! I'm watching game 1 of the 94 finals as I type this :)
