    Thank you, thank you. How can anyone not want our players to do well? We don't need a savior from the draft- we need a decent player who can either run the show at the point or be the decent-shooting power forward we need. We can certainly get that at #14 as well as at #1-3. Do we really want to compare ourselves to San Antonio who blatantly tanked to get Duncan? And since there's no Duncan in the draft, who cares?

    Thank you, Rockets, for doing what you're paid to do.

    Nice win. Rockets will play out the season, the way it is supposed to be. The lottery will take care of its self. Just read that Noah and the other two sophs for Florida will be back in Florida to go for a repeat.

    At least for once, JVG's substituition works (or not, depending on whether you want to win or lose ;) ): he substituted the entire starting lineup with bench players for two minutes in the 3rd quater. After that, Rockets fought right back to the end.

    A nice win for the Rockets but the problems still remain:

    - Yao commits too many TOs;
    - Luther can't shoot FTs;
    - Bogans can't shoot anything;
    - Stro can't defend.

    I'd like more options in the draft, too, but I can't help but root for the team. I like to see them win no matter what. They're bad, but they're not TEXANS bad.

    Actually, the team is getting some really good practice getting the ball to Yao. There were some really creative diversion tactics employed tonight to get the big fella the ball against the double team.

    We won! Not sure I am happy about that :D But anyway win is a win so.. I will like to see Stro and Chuck Hayes play more minutes though! Please JVG give them more minutes. And let Lampe play, see what he has got!

    High pick doesn't guarantee a good pick, but historically speaking once you drop too far off the top (about top 7), it becomes less and less likely that you draft a good player.

    #9? My bad. nontheless, it just proves that you can have a successfull draft even if you got a pick in between 10 and 24.

    Rockets win. Whoopty-doo.

    Yao hasn't been sharp the last few games. His turnovers have gone way up, when for a month he was doing a very good job taking care of the ball.

    I would have liked JVG to keep Chuck Hayes in the game throughout the 4th quarter. He played great while he was in there.

    It doesn't appear Yao's TOs have much to do with his teammates tonight. They are his own faults.

    67% FT would be super for Shaq, but not for a shooting guard.

    At some point when I thought all I could get from this game thread was whine of our win today, I got your clip. Oh the clip is so great, esp for people like me seldom have a chance to watch the game live.

    Thanks a lot JuLiO-R-!

    My sentiments exactly. Obviously, we'll have almost no chance to get the #1 pick, regardless of what we do. But if we can give ourselves a greater than even chance to get one of the top 6 or 7 picks, that'll pay dividends in the future. Much more so than winning any of these games.

    We just might be able to nab a Brandon Roy with one of those top 7 picks, and he'll be a quality NBA SG right out of the gate (whether JVG will start him right away is another matter, of course).

    The Rockets aren't going to tank, but as a fan who wants the Rockets to be as good as possible next season I'd prefer they lose as many game this season as possible. There's no shame in that.

    And T Mac was the 9th pick overall in 1997 too. :)

    Amare and Tracy at 9? Too bad there aren't any high schoolers in this draft. And with Noah pulling out, this draft looks downright bad. :(
