The defense was poor, but the bottom line is that when both your franchise players have more shot attempts than points, and neither scores more than 11 you lose against any decent opponent.

They rely too much on their 3s. That's why they lost to Jazz in a 7 game series.
The problem with Rockets is we don't over-rebound them. We don't have a lot 2nd time opportunities. So we have to shot close to the rim to get the rebounds. A 3pt miss=a fast break of Warriors.

I don't understand why all teams don't front Yao with anyone. Even an athletic 6'4" would take Yao completely out of the game.

Has Battier had an "on" night this season? I'm starting to agree that Rudy Gay is already a much better player.

    We have no bench.

    Open up the rotation.

It was funny watching Don Nelson play the matchup game against us. He started Harrington in the third quarter, and he kept draining open threes over Yao. As soon as Adelman subs Yao out, Nelly puts Biedrins in the game. And when Adelman subsequently puts Yao back in, Nelly prompty takes Biedrins out and puts Harrington back.

He kept us off balance the entire second half with those substitutions.

this fatigue bullsh*t has got to go. this is the nba, this is the BEGINNING of the season, wtf? totally not an excuse. i blame the coach for this game. pure jibberish on the court tonight.
actually i blame the media. i am almost positive that the francis hype trickled into a franchise night, of which tmac wanted no part whatsoever, nor yao.
but im sure some of the fans loved it. loved the horrible horrible loss.

Yao should try to spin out and pull the weight, when someone is fronting him and lean heavily towards him. Try to catch the ball that way.

Ok. lets look at the positives guys. atleast mike james, Wells(2nd half) and snyder all looked ok. i hope adelman starts using kirk a bit more. he is a atheletic body who can draw some fouls. he can play pretty good D.

Negatives. Battier. if he's shot is not falling he is useless. he's defense is overrated and the supposed intangibales are non exsistent.

Scola fumbels he's way to the rim way to much. he can be a very good player if he stopped burping the ball up.

Yao looked pathetic. 4-13 shooting and was being punked by Harrington

McGrady was'nt much better. 5-14. thats pathetic. he also makes a simple layup look hard by trying some fancy ass reverse layup. just dunk it.

I think this loss was a timely one. we were starting to get cocky after beating a overrated nuggets and a bad clippers team. beating the suns was good. this is the perfect dose of reality we needed.

I'm not sure what you mean... The only person who didn't play that was on the active list is Mutumbo, and only Hayes and Head played less than 18 minutes.

Now everybody will say that the match up problem that GS give Houston, blablabla. Same with Phx.
Last Yao no end of back to back vs PHX 30+point 2 wins, in the end of back to back -20 and 5 loses.

Playoff not back to back and only they travel twice each serie.
Regular season a lot of game and traveling and back to backs.

Run and Gun team, no good in playoff and o titles.
Regular season, fun to watch and a lot of wins

Houston is trying to built a team for the playoff to win championships, Phx, GS, the old Dallas etc, built teams to put ppl in the seats but not to win championship.

i think adelman went away from tmac b/c they doubled him everytime he touched the ball at the elbow so he wanted to go to other guys.

we'll learn from this game. if teams can deny tmac from one play (post up/elbow tonight), we gotta move him around.

The starting lineup was terrible. They put us far behind in the first quarter and then lost us the game in the third. This is why i keep insisting we need to change that lineup for good. If it wasnt for our bench we would have lost that game by 40.

Great game by MJ. Snyder played solid solid minutes. Wish Scola had played more when it counted instead of when the game was almost decided. Bonzi was so so and shouldnt have played so much.

And for Gods sakes, Yao should never get the ball near the 3 point line. The man is a turnover waiting to happen out there. :(

i agree with the starting lineup. I think the coach needs to change the starting lineup at least situationally depending on who we play. when u have rafer, battier, and hayes in the starting lineup, its like playing 2.5/5 vs 5/5 if tmac and yao aren't making the shots.
