This was always going to be a hard one.

b2b, on the road, opposing team is a team that never loses against us, they are also on a 6 game losing streak so are desperate, they also are rested.

Tough luck road trip, especially losing those LA games on the last shot.

 

Remember when the Rockets used a magic 3 point line force field on defense during the 6 game home win streak?

Turns out you can't recreate that every night.

 

Yep...he's 3 of 6 for 50% but only 1 of 4 from 3. So, he's 2 of 2 on non 3's. I think we'd take 50% from anyone not named Alpy anytime. But, hey...that's just me. Has 1 steal and 2 blocks.

 

Jalen is the only player who seems to not have really learned anything from Ime. Everyone else seems to have learned to do different things to impact the game, hoping Amen and/or Cam work out so we can give some minutes to them.

 

Rough game. GSW on a B2B is cruelty.

 

At this point - I just want him to find a consistent 3 point rhythm.

 

Jalen playing passive again.
He just doesn't have the handle to get to anything but a step back jumper or a straight line drive to the rim and layup attempt.

He's actually a tight handle away from being a really good offensive player but he's only improved it marginally over his rookie year so I'm not holding my breath.

With VV not scoring, Brooks in foul trouble and Jalen being passive we just don't have any scoring punch whatsoever.
A scrappy defense can only take you so far on it's own!

Should've rested everyone against the Lakers. If ever you get the Lakers at Staples on a B2B just punt it. Not worth spending your guys just to play 8v5.

 

It has nothing to do with "learning from Ime". He just isn't very good. Can't shoot, dribble, pass, or finish at the rim at an NBA-average level. This isn't hard to understand.

 

There's always an excuse to not hold overhyped players accountable but you have to reject them.

If a player sucks on both sides of the ball, give someone else a chance... if they do nothing with the chance, you can go back... but when you have guys at the same position buried on the bench and you refuse to hold certain players accountable no matter what, that's not how you get a good team culture going.

 

I still share Udoka’s look of disgust from Jalen throwing the ball into the 5th row unforced. See that’s those bad habits he has from Silas and from never getting good development/coaching in college. It’s just button mashing 2k for him. Jacking shots, not boxing out for Looney’s easy put back…that throw into the stands intended for uncle Jeff. Kid has got a lot of work to do. No way you max this dude.
