I think you are looking at it the wrong way. People on here are fans. Fans watch games. When you watch something you make observations. People are just coming on here expressing their concerns and observations and you know what it's reality. If we are not playing to our capabilities and someone says "The Rockets aren't playing to their capabilities" are they being negative or are they just stating the truth? Not everyone want to walk around with Rose colored glasses.

^ That's true, objectivity is always welcome. The problem arises when folks find every little thing to complain about without giving much credit when things are actually going well.

Understandably, we are all a little jaded but we should still count our blessings and remember where we came from and how quickly things can change

I think they get plenty of credit here. Did you see the board after the Thunder win? Also the problem with that is if you complain after a loss people call you knee jerk. So now you have people expressing those feelings even after a loss so people won't think it was just a knee jerk reaction. You also will be hard pressed to find someone on this site who doesn't think Harden is MVP or that he should start the All-Star game.

I'm mostly referring to the nonsense during the game. If you didn't know the actual outcome, reading most of the game threads would leave you to believe that we were getting owned the majority of the time.

    Honestly, it is exhausting

It's like that when you go to a game too though. When I watch the game with my friends we are laughing joking and yelling at the tv, it's the same thing.

We don't have to win this game, but we really should win it - for pride sake. More concerned about Harden playing well. If he plays well but the Rockets lose, then whatever on to the next game. If Harden struggles and the Rockets lose, time to get pretty worried.

Your "realism" is just as false as fans who are over optimistic. The echo chamber nature of fan forums like this means that a minority of fans can create a perception about players, or even about teams that are inaccurate. If a few obsessed fans rail on and on about, say, the merits of Jeremy Lin, or Dwight Howard being lazy, the sheer volume of posts develops its own momentum and people give credence to poorly supported ideas. This phenomenon happens over and over again. Dumb ideas become narratives amongst a fan base and they are hard to shake. This is independent if that story about a player, or team is credible. Most people don't review game footage, ask questions, or conduct any kind of serious analysis to counter these narratives. Confirmation bias then kicks in and the cycle usually goes on until something dramatic and unmistakable happens.

You sound like a conspiracy theorist man, lol. My point is that Game Threads reflect what fans are thinking at the time. If i'm at a game and Bev is turning the ball over I may say, "take a break Bev" or "give the ball to Harden" the guys next to me may say "Bev sucks!". If I or he was online we might type those things. That is really all game threads are, fans reacting to the game. Don't take it too seriously.
