    Our players looked like zombies out there, totally gassed out. I know Cleveland also played yesterday, but they were much better prepared.

    My opinion of Cam Whitmore remains the same. He will be a stud for us.

    Who would have known that a trio of Isaiah Mobley, Sam Merrill and Emoni Bates would have been the offensive juggernaut that would win a title.

    There isan upside to losing the final game: our young players know know they need to work on their craft, and conditioning.

    No matter what, they gave us quite a few entertaining games.

    I'm most interested in adding Mayer to the roster, the stuff he does well seems translatable and most likely to earn minutes of the bunch, since it addresses an overall roster weakness. However, I still doubt he'd get to play outside garbage time unless we have a pretty bad rash of simultaneous injuries (knock on wood).

    When you're playing against a team with length, five out is the best way to attack them. Cleveland had length and shooting all long their lineup. And we couldnt matchup

    We needed some size in the paint for that matchup. Shots went cold so thats what happens in a game like that. Oh well, its summer league and we didnt have our top pick out there playing. They did very well with the talent they had out there. Some of those guys should get a training camp invite. Cam looks like he is the real deal and should get some run this year in a backup role while he develops his overall game.

    Its a good thing for our guys not to be toooo cocky come regular season.
    If we had won it all, I was wondering if our team might feel like they are ready to beat anyone, any night.
    Well, that is a good attitude, but a poor expectation.

    Real NBA teams playing real defense is going to be a shock to some of the new troops, given they have never seen it. But mostly, its going to be vets and 2 & 3 year guys out there, not rooks for the most part, so I am not worried.

    People dont realize that playing small ball exerts extra energy. Especially back to backs.

    Yes its Summer league but that is why I never liked small ball. You can get by during the regular season but in the playoffs its a different story.
