When you said "Why do you guys Suck so much" were you referring to T-Mac thinking that of his fellow rockets or his opponents?

Please answer this question. I don't feel its fair to discredit Yao and the rest of the Rockets if that's what you meant. Please clarify.

Relax. He's just talking about how effortless T-Mac makes it seem on the court. No need to make a big deal out of crazypete's analogy. He's not trying to insult the rest of the rockets.

I'm going to explain this so even you can understand TIGER. The more you talk, the more it shows you can't ball to save your life.

Steve Francis was the point guard last year. Steve Francis barely averaged six assists a game. Why did Steve barely average six assists a game? Because assists aren't Steve's game. Steve was a 2 his whole basketball career. High School, San Jac, Maryland, and then he gets drafted to play the point by Rudy. Steve even sacrificed his game last year to help get his teammates more involved. Did it work successfully? That's disputable. The Rockets definitely had a better record and went to the playoffs. However, Steve took away from his strengths by not scoring as much, and subsequently his shooting percentage went down.

Boki is a player that feeds off of others. A DISTRIBUTING point guard with a motion offense, or an inside outside game will get Boki in a comfort zone. I don't think anybody in the league can come in and play 8 minutes a game and expect to have great numbers. Additionally, JVG had said repeatedly that Boki was a defensive liability earlier in the year last year. He also said later on last year that Boki worked his butt off during the year and EARNED his minutes in the playoffs. He didn't disappoint either. Last I checked, basketball is a team sport that is dependent on CHEMISTRY. 8 New players on the team and you expect Boki to have a lights out preseason. Dude get off your couch and do something else besides whining on a basketball forum. Whining on a basketball forum doesn't make you a basketball PLAYER. You can say Boki sucks like a lil girl does, its embarrassing we have faithless fans, but hey it happens. But at least sound intelligent when you're whining.

    Hey Jack Hammer.

I believe in the last year he was at Maryland he actually did play the point. But before that you are correct all he ever played was the 2.

Good catch Stack, you're absolutely right. I wasn't here in 1998 when Francis was playing at Maryland. I did some research and found that he did play both point guard and shooting guard. His criticisms then are exactly what they are today. He's not well adept at running a half-court offense. I LOVE Steve Francis and I'm in no way bashing him. I love his heart and intensity. I'm just saying at this stage in Boki's career he needs a good DISTRIBUTING point guard to compliment his skills. Boki can create his own shot as evidenced by his numerous drives.

Thanks for pointing that out Stack

Not a problem. I believe in the same way you do. Boki reminds me a bit of someone like Shandan Anderson. Maybe Boki has a better shot but hasn't really proven it yet. He has proven that he can run the floor and finish if he gets in that situation. He just needs to run with a team that knows how to run the fast break and get open in the lane.

Francis would be a great 2 gauard in my opinion on a team that had a low key PG like ward or Lue. Someone that doesn't look for his shot. If we had francis with a guard like that he would have been good as well being a scoring option.

He is more fitted in the east on a team that is going to run and gun and it will show. His stats will look great but he still will have his problems with running a half court offense.

Yeah I agree. I've been saying for a while now that Steve would be best suited as a two. Since he's only 6'3 playing the off-guard position he would be a liability against the taller two's. So he would be most effective if he had a taller point guard ala Penny in his first couple seasons or maybe even Shaun Livingston if he lives up to his potential, playing the point. This would enable Steve to pressure the point and the taller point complemented with Steve to guard the two.

Excellent reference to Shandon Anderson. I think that suits him to a T right now. Let's hope he shoots his way out of that mold. I think he will.

Shandan really killed us all those years becasue he was always running around and on the fast break. Then we signed him to do the same thing but really couldn't in Rudy's system since he wanted him to spot up and shoot more which he really couldn't do that well.

That's the advantage Boki has, he is supposed to be a good shooter. That is really what will make him a better player if he can live up to that aspect of it.

    Bingo!

Boki is not that type of player. He's a slasher/running type. Like Shandon or Pippen; long legs, arms and can change direction in the fast-break very easily with those long strides.

Rudy wanted him (as all of his small fowards) to be spot up 3 pt shooters. Wrong role for Boki.

I am just hoping JVG understands what Boki is and will utilize him when he takes out Yao and goes with the Running type offense with Lue, Mcgrady and the rest of the younger guys to change up the pace. I really think he can work for us in that situation.
