channel 51 doesn't come in so clear in Austin...

unlike the religious channels which seem to come in even when the power goes out.

If anyone knows of an Austin way of viewing the game (which doesn't neccessarily mean a beer and a jay) please let me know.

    Cheers,
    Brock

Ben Gordon's numbers look awful in the preseason so far, don't they?

I really liked his game in college. He CAN shoot, he has the ability to penetrate, and he can jump out of the gym. The only thing that I worried about him was that he was probably going to be a tweener. But I honestly didn't expect him to struggle this much. In fact I thought that he would be one of the most polished rookies coming into the league this year. Instead, he'll probably play behind Pike, Duhon, and others on a not-so-talented Bulls team.

Well, guess there is a reason that I'm not a scout.

Anyway, we should win even with our second unit. 92-83 Rockets.

I'll go against the tide and call a high scoring win for the Bulls.

    I'd expect:

-An amazingly pumped up Eddy Curry trying to make his case for a max (hahaha) contract by being (overly) aggressive on offense against Yao.

-A good game out of Chris Duhon, who's fighting managment over his place on the team (they want him to go to Europe since they're saddled with so many PG contracts).

-JVG to not care any more about winning this game than any other preseason game.

    Bulls 104, Rockets 92

Tyson is looking pretty damn good so far in the pre season. Sure wish the Rockets would have pulled the trigger on a trade for him this summer when the Bulls were willing to move him along with a bad contract. He had 8 offensive and 17 total rebounds last night against the Celts and hit 50% of his shots. He is going to be a stud.

    Rockets 96
    Bulls 92

Yao and TMac go off big time

At what point in the preseason games (4 left I think) does JVG start locking down the rotation to simulate the regular season rotations versus still looking at different lineup combinations and looking at training camp guys?

Are we at this point yet with this game? If not I would think the next one.

Nocioni is going to start for the Bulls this season. He's an ultimate hustle guy with very fine skills..already the fan favorite in chicago... has a NBA veteran's mindset. Last night Goog couldn't stand his pushing and bumping, retaliated with an elbow and got a T.

Look out for Eddy Curry. He's real quick now with a 285lb body.

i hope tmac and yao only get 10 minutes of playing time so they can rest and decrease the risk of them getting injured

My guess is this will be the last game before that "point." It will be their first game back from China and JVG still needs to see more from his bench to make some decisions.

But the starters need to develope chemistry as well, so I'd expect to see more time out of them, especially in the Saturday (Magic) and Wednesday (Spurs) game, with maybe a little rest in the back to back the next Thursday. That's how I'd do it at least.

I wouldn't expect anything that exciting about this Bulls game, but assuming the Stros win today, I'll be there tomorrow.

If it was me, I would start looking at that kind of action with two games left in the preseason. You need to use as much of the preseason as possible to evaluate the rookies and scrubs to determine who is actually going to make the squad. The last two games are for tightening things up and preparing the main guys for regular season action.

Normally I'd agree, but the Rockets last two games are back-to-back, which theoretically could raise the potential for injury ever so slightly, so JVG will likely reduce their minutes that last game somewhat.

True, I hadn't considered the back-to-back. The last game, we will probably see more limited minutes, but I bet that the lineup that starts the first and third quarters in that game are the guys that start in Detroit on election night.

Just something funny to think about for this game...Keep an eye on Hinrich and how he'll try and perform for his own team (of course), but also for JVG. JVG has gone on record (Chicago Newspapers) about Kirk's game (positive). You never know? Interviewing for a job, Kirk? ;)

I might agree if it was a regular season game, but since it is exhibition, niether of the 3 will come close getting the amount of minutes it would take to attain those stats.

I'm gonna be pissed if Ward makes 3 3 pointers and only has 8 points.
