I don't want to complain about ref's call. YAO may not deserve every call, but YAO indeed made some stupid fouls. YAO's defense and offense are obviously off the track this month. He has lost his heart these days. I suspect that he could recover his confidence in the coming playoff. JVG should learn something from Piston Coach Larry Brown in designing team's offense and defense strategies. He cannot enforce his players into his so-called systems. He should change his systems so that his players could play in an efficient way. YAO is not always an answer. The same is for SF3. ROX have to have a flexible offense and defense strategies, depending on opponents.
just figures that the rockets would get rolled like this. what happened to all the talk about how the rest of the games matter because the rockets want to move up in seeding. this team is getting complacent because they made the playoffs for the first time in 5 years. im glad for that, but i wish they would reach for more. "I don't have a problem at all with Steve," Van Gundy said last week. "I think Steve has worked diligently to try to be what I want him to be. But you're never going to go through a season without disagreements. Everybody wants to harken back to the missed plane-Super Bowl thing, and to me, that's a blip on the radar screen. I did what I thought I had to do, and that was it." Asked if the disagreement would lead to an off-season trade of Francis, Van Gundy said, "Absolutely not." I wonder if that will still be true after some of the preformances SF has had as of late. i sure hope SF doesn't take the crappy shot at the end of the game in the playoffs.
I keep thinking these last games are meaningless too but it's obvious JVG doesn't think so and I'm beginning to understand why. First, it sucks to lose. Losing is self-perpetuating and demoralizing. Second, there is a psychological boost to being the 7th seed as opposed to the 8th seed. Being 7th makes also makes the team feel that they are not the worst team in the playoffs and that we didn't barely make it. That said, the odds of us winning either of the next 2 games has got to be close to zero.
You know the reason? Referees do not like the style of Rox's play just like the way they don't like Pat Riley's style.
Exactly...truer words never spoken. **** the Jazz--holy hell it was hard being at that game. I've been to many Rockets games in many different venues, but it is NEVER harder to watch a Rockets game than in Salt Lake. Of course, that could be because we've only won once in like fifteen tries in Utah... Seriously, though--**** the Jazz. Where is that franchise going? If they continue to convince NOBODY to go play for them, they can tread water at 7 or 8 forever as far as I'm concerned. The game sucked, but we've got bigger stuff--like the PLAYOFFS--to worry about.
for those that didnt get to see some of the worst calls ever made by an official...check this out. Some clips from the Jazz game
no secret password...what do you mean unable to open? do you get a file not found?(404 error) they should open in your web browser since they are mpeg1 clips.
That Yao goaltending call was really his own fault. Yao should have known there is no way he cound block a shoot by putting a hand under the basket.
