It wasn't that we got better players, its that the trades forced Adleman not play Brooks anymore. If your starting 5 outscores your opponent 69% of the time yet you end up below 0.500, obviously its the bench players that are causing you to lose, meaning Brooks. smh

 

What if today was November 11th

 

The game was a showcase of the Rocket's young players and quite a group they are. I am increasingly impressed with Dragic, he appears to be diamond in the rough. He can shoot when he settles in. He can drive and finish. He has handles and his passes very well. What I like most is he plays all out all the time. Patterson has loads of potential. Hayes is amazing and must be retained even to come off the bench. C-Bud is flakey at times but continues to show flashes of offensive explosion. There are not many players in the league that can erupt for 30 points or more. I think he is going to get better. Throw in Lowry and Lee, this is a very interesting and talented core. A D.Howard would make this group a contender over night.

 

The Battier trade "forced" Adelman to play Budinger and Lee more. Adelman already liked those two players. But Battier was still a very good starter. So the good run has nothing to do with the Battier trade.

I agree about Brooks' departure. But what choices did Adelman have with a healthy Brooks? He's a shooter. A shooter needs confidence to shoot. And he helped the team win lots of games last season. By the same logic, Morey should have traded Brooks LAST YEAR to force Adelman to play Lowry as starter. But no, Adelman won with Brooks last year, just like he won with Lowry this year.

 

Agreed. Imagine Dwight Howard as our starting center with Yao Ming playing the backup. Game over.
