as bad as the rockets played tonight i think the missed free throw utimately cost them the game. i dont expect each player to shoot 100% but yao missed 5 and most of them were just in and out, tracy missed 3 in the same fashion (well the first one clanged back rim) but bottom line they need to hit free throws on the road to be a real winner. missing 15 fts for a team that i consider to be an above avg ft shooting team is unacceptable

Boy, I couldn't believe how many time balls slipped out Yao's hands and how he was so prone to fall to the floor.

I am a Yao fan, but I have to admit the "soft" label is not yet detached from Yao.

Yao needs some "soft" hands. He's got stone hands right now.

We'll show up for Miami. JVG is gonna be hoarse from yelling at everyone tonight but since we have a bunch of veterans, I think we'll be disciplined enough to move on - provided Tmac can sort out his emotional issues (once again I'm assuming the Weisbrod stuff is bothering the hell out of him).

YOF bring down this board, badly! But there is nothing that could be done about it, they will give jump all over T-Mac's bad performances (which are very few in comparison to the good ones) because they don't like T-Mac, simply because they want a team of nothing but role players, so Yao can get 50 shots a game!

They become much more obvious with losses like this one, and a YOF usually means you absolutely hate T-Mac's guts, I have noticed that over time. Sad, but I think it is true

Don't be so touchy. On a night like this, Tmac should either shoot less or take it to the hole.

And Yao certainly should shoot more than for his 55.1%.

"Soft" as in "soft player". Do I need to make myself clearer?

I cannot believe you are saying this. Sura tried to feed Yao the ball twice, both in a 1-3 ft range. How could Yao catch the ball with 3 men around him in the paint? Sura needs to learn how to feed entry pass. The 3rd TO on Yao results from another missed entry pass from Tracy.

And another thing. What has happened to the Rockets defense? Missing shots is fine, it happens at times, but bad defense is a lack of effort and that's the most disappointing thing about these past two games, it better not happed against Miami or the Rockets will get run out of their own gym.

And ANOTHER thing. I'm sure this has been mentioned before. Jon Barry is the best player I've seen at getting the ball to Yao, hopefully he gets resigned.

In my original I am backing up b...xry's post and said no need to reply that YOF's post. This mogord totally misunderstood. Then came a guy like you with this YOF, YOF, YOF.. done, please, OK?

for the most part i agree with you. however, sam cassel had contested shots that swished all game long. thats not very defendable. kg cannot be stopped by our 4's. spree and hudson didnt do much so we held them down. i dont think we played bad defense i think they hit momentum breaking shots that stuffed any hope of a comeback

Yao just has terrible stamina, he can't help it, he starts off aggressive and good, and then fatigue sets in, and he starts letting people push him around from the back, he must have fallen a few times this game. But overall, he can't do anything about that, that is the fault of his genes that gave him a 7'6" frame to carry. I have always said that if Yao was 4 inches shorter, he would be one of the greatest centers of all time. But alas, you can't do anything about his size.

Am I the only one who thinks that EVEN with more conditioning, Yao will never have enough stamina to be effective for more than 30 minutes a game? Because if so, then THIS (not softness, not touches, not anything else) that will hold him back from absolute greatness.

I am starting to get that impression, and I hope I am dead wrong.

Actually the bench 's the place where they were in their whole career. It is so funny that somebody thinks they can be solid starters in a championship team.
