I beg to differ, we do LIVE AND DIE by Yao. He is THE MAN now and the offense runs through him.

If you know the essence of basketball offense you know that Yao is beating the front at times, but his perimeter players are doing a terrible job of knowing when he is going to come open. By the time they see it, the D is already back in fronting position.

The problem is mentality.Brooks brings the ball up the floor looking for his shot.He doesn't dribble the basketball in angles to throw entry passes. He dribbles the ball staright to you looking at the basket.

All the goofy stuff works in spurts. But at the end of the day if we don't understand how to get yao the rock we are in trouble

It's really simple. Pass the ball around to the weak side as the paint will be wide open due to the fronting.

The Rox just can't seem to understand that fronting Yao makes scoring easier for everyone.

Really, you think that's the reason we died and not Ron playing 1 on 5 and taking contested 3s or Aaron Brooks basically playing no D and barrelling into players on his drives?

that's fine if you judge them by character. there's a reason a lot of rocket fans clamor for yao to be more "bad-ass" and be meaner, demand the ball, dominate, destroy the opponents.

but yay for character i guess. that has gotten yao to the superstar level.

Can't be as bad as him on defense which is what I worry about with our midget navigator out there.

no the problem is you're not keeping up with Rocket's basketball...the offense changed when Rafer left, Adelman actually wants Brooks to look for his shot or to score when he dribbles the ball upcourt., Yao is a "second" option, if Brooks cant get something quick and easy, then they set up and go to Yao.

Man wafer's defense esp on the ball, is horrible. And yes, regarding PG duties, lowry>brooks, obviously.
