That was a thing of beauty. Spree was all over him, just playing great D, and Tracy makes such a quick move, gets a fraction of a second open, and just drills that baby. That had me on my feet, yelling at my TV.

Actually, Haley was only a part of the championship over the Sonics. In 1997 it was Robert Parish and Bison Dele(formerly Brian Williams). In 1998 they had Joe Kleine and for an extra white guy Rusty LaRue.

I like the fact that all the rox players played a controlled game today, of course except the two miss from sura before the end of regulation. Nobody panic, nobody lost faith.

Yao 's perofrmance really pleased our fans, he shows some aggressive and tough game inside his body, including the dunk in a three opponents crowd after a offense board. A very first time, I start to believe he can grow up to be a player who will bring a champion to Houston with Tmac.

For Tmac , no words, he is a player that every team want to be in their lineup.

Sura played nice, I think the two misses before the end of regulation is JVG 's fault, he should tell players how to play, and I did not see his plan.

Any way, a sweet win, now we are 27-11, Grizzile 27-11 tie in the sixth position in west leading lakers by one and Wolves by 2 and a half.

    some observations

Yao was very aggressive and ran the floor very well tonight. Didn't look tired at all. If he can play like this most of the nights, we can put to rest the discussion of soft, no heart, stamina problem etc.. He still needs to take care of the ball better sometimes. His defense was huge, bailed out the team a lot of times. I was surprised to see he got only two rebounds -- looked like he got his hands on the ball so many times, especially in the 4th quarter.

T-Mac was incredible with many of his shots. With so much ease it looked like he was from another planet.

Sura: his defense was bad, was destroyed by Wade in Miami, couldn't hanle even Sam who was much older than him. His passing is so-so, probably his floor vision is not very good. The good: great hustle play, sometimes creative offensive plays.

Overall great team effort tonight and great win. With all the recent losses, Minn played very determined and very aggressively tonight, but Rockets pulled out the win anyway! Among all NBA games tonight, this is the only win by a road team!

The lowly Knicks wasted a HUGE early lead and managed to lose to the Kings. Looked the final play by the Knicks, it is even worse than the one they managed to have against the Rockets a couple of weeks back. Even Marbury got 37 points, I would rather take Sura than him.

What exactly is he wrong about? With a 7 point lead and under two minutes remaining in OT, the Wolves were going to start shooting 3's(ie perimeter offense). Therefore it makes sense to go small at that time so that there are enough guys to cover all the Minnesota shooters on the floor. That is why Yao was out, not to mention the fact he had to be dead tired.

How about you make some logical points off your own before you start calling respected posters idiots as well? Because, to be honest, it only makes you look foolish right now.

great win. Not to be nit picky or anything, but i got really really mad when yao was posted up in the second i think it was where he fought really hard for good position on the right wing until sura with his head down just drives right into him. I really don't get those plays. Sura has been great but he doesn't have a pure point guards' vision. His questionable shots at the end irritated me too. THat said, i don't even remember how many times i said YOU ****ING RULE SURA after he penetrates inside for a layup or floater. I think he should jsut stick to slashing and leave those jumpers to tmac or wesley.

Good observations. I agree that Yao has been very aggressive in the past weeks or so. He doesn't look as winded like his rookie and sophore years. Sura's defense, even though wasn't spectacular, but his offensive creativity was unbelievable; especially those drives to the basket.

You must have mistaken about Yao's rebound. I think he got 14 rebounds and almost half of them are on the offensive end. Howard was great, I have no regret starting him over MoT at all. His mid-range jumpers are automatic (although they didn't fall as well as previous games)

Another observation is that the rockets' starter have been consistent so far as most of the games recently witnessed them scoring in the double digits

I have to say ( come out of my lurking ) that this is the first time in quite a few years that i feel confident with this team playing anybody. This team is able to close games out and keep thier composure. This was something i would have never expected the past few years, when going down to the wire in a close game, and pulling it out in the fasion that we did, its just i dunno, havent seen it in such a long time, since the dream years.
Like many are saying, expect many godo things to come.

Our bench is thin. We badly need to find a back up to take some pressures off T-mac, we cannot keep him logging 42-44min per game. I guess rumors that Rockets are talking with Blazers to acquire DA does make some sense after all.
