This team is not good at back to back. I think many people realize that, including JVG. Last night's after game interview he said something like "I don't buy that back-to-back game BS. Let's play. Let's just play."

That didn't sound confident at all, did it?

Just a bad game, no big deal, no panic, no need to diss the team.

    Glad you asked....

Rafer is a pass first PG.

As in, you pass on him as a first option at PG.

All I saw was the stats, and judging from it we stunk it up. But you know we played great D. If we could play so stink and still be in position to win, that's the sign of a championship team. Sure you might say a real championship team will win them, but truth is we always put ourselves in position to win.

    Horrible Game to watch!
155 fouls committed by Mini against Yao Ming- few called.
    Rockets tired.
Tracy McGrady shoots too much from the outside instead of going to the basket more.
Yao Ming playing too far away from the basket shoots away from the basket too much instead of playing like a center and going to the basket.
JVG loves Howard and plays this scrub too much, to a point that he upsets the game plan.
Alston makes too many BAD decissions
We dont have an athletic Power Forward.
Chuck Hayes, played a brave game in trying to guard Garnett
    Head was the Head Man!!
    Mini totally disrupted our game.
Obviously we still need our third scorer who can take the load when this happens to Tracy & Yao. I can faintly hear Bonzi and M.James laughing to one another on the phone :p

Why did we lose tonight? Answer: A blow out victroy last night.
Tonight T-mac shot much more and inaccurately, likely due to the surge of confidence from last night.
Yao shot poorly and reluctantly, Worst game this season.
Alston, what i am going to say, immature? impulsive? Unreliable for sure.
Head and battier are good role players.
    Chuck is fine.
JoH, package with wells, But who wants him?
    V-span, long way to go.
    JVG, outcoached tonight again.

Well, tonight it took no McGrady AND no Yao, 10 of 40.

    It'll happen.

I just want to say that it was so nice to see so many refreshing comments today.

The usual haters around like Z. But love the optimism for a change!

As for the game itself, I think that we truly need a third scorer. At the beginning of the year, I really thought this team was to be feared. But I was putting Bonzi in the equation. If he isn't' going to play, then we gotta do something about getting about 12-14pts from somewhere else for nights like these.

I also think that Coach has to play a little more bench on back to backs. Historically, teams all struggle with back to backs and only the truly rare great teams dominate that mental part of the game.

The extra scoring can't come from Battier. He is too busy locking down the LeBrons of the world. :)

I still like our team and we are really playing well. And what I like most, we are playing well with T-Mac being a shell of his former self, no Bonzi, no Snyder and not clicking on all cylinders. I still think the best is yet to come.

Exactly... 10 of 40 and we're still in the game at the end?

    wow

Yeah, I sort of missed on that prediction, he looked good coming off screens, but ....well.....not so much the rest of his career.

I was sort of being bombastic, but it is all good !

Again? I don't think replacing Alston with James is going to improve Rocekts. Let James come off bench, yes.

Can we get over this? We need a 3rd scorer, we also need a team oriented PG. James fit the first better, Alston fits the 2nd better. I'd like to have both on this team, but not one replace the other. With Yao and Tmac both on the floor, I still like Alston more.

Now, please bring your idea with you to bed, you won't persuade my just like I won't persuade you, keep arguing about this topic between us is pointless.

Yup! With Juwan and Rafer commanding heavy minutes!! *laugh*

Me thinks JVG has gotten too used to coaching Knicks scrubs.

Juwan and Rafer bring back the memories for him.

Hopefully this time he wont quit on his team like he quit on the Knicks.

Oh wait.... what am I saying?

    Cmon Gundy...do your quittin!

Minnesota played harder, with more passion and more aggressively.

The Rockets wilted, Tmac and Yao both played very soft games.

Tmac settling for jumpers and Yao not using his height to get to the rim....

Very dissappointing, it will be interesting to see how the team comes back on Friday.

LOL, how you can say this on a night when Rafe-daddy (which was actually a good night for him) jacks up another 16 shots is beyond me - given that he and James dished out the same number of assists. Also on a night when the diminished McGrady shows once again why he's not a perimeter threat anymore.

Trust me, I know I won't convince you, but I plan on reminding you and anybody else silly enough to hold to the line that Alston is the man (when even the Rockets abandoned it last year) about it all season long, to alleviate the frustaration at having to watch no. 12 stink up the joint night after night while Mr. James is the ideal Rockets PG...somewhere else. Then I'll stop.

Bad shooting night--> forcing plays--> TO --> bad offensive night.

You aren't gonna win too many games shooting 35% from the field, especially with 2 guys you count on for 45 points a night shooting 25%.

Tonight the problem was not a lack of "3rd scorer", it was the 1st and 2nd option having bad nights. Guys like Battier and Head did fine.

I'm not worried about bad shooting nights, they happen and there's typically nothing you can do about having one every so often. What does worry me are bad execution nights.
