    Francis - Scorer
    Mobley - Scorer
    JJ - Scorer
Cato - Defender <--a big hole in our offense; defenses leave him open; then double Yao; he needs to be a threat.
Yao - Shooter (has more shooting ability, rather than total scoring ability)

We have no playmakers, no passers except Yao. But he's our center, not pg.
The fact that you have so many scoring players makes the mindset of the team to "get theirs." Each player WANTS to be that guy that scores.

That ends up hurting the whole concept of team play. We RARLEY get easy shots as a team. "Scorers" don't know how to get others involved. They just don't. It's not in their nature.

Yao may not be playing well on offense, but the Rockets have a matador defense without him.

    There are 2 solutions.

Start Cato at the center, YM from the bench. Start MT at the PF spot. SF at the 1 and Cat at 2. Play small ball, iso. Rox can win some games this way without getting blown out consistently.

    or

Trade for a PG, starter or backup.

exactly. the rockets struggle for every shot. look at the ease at which the wolves get their buckets, then check out the rocks.

it's mind-boggling that a team can struggle that bad just to get off a decent shot.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out how to defend Yao. Bring a guard immediately when he puts the ball on the floor. I don't even want to see Yao dribble once. He needs to either be close enough to the basket for a layup, or he just be shooting jumpers. He's got the range.

I look into the thread hoping for some quality information on what is going on in the game as I can not watch it, but NOOOO, all I see is "Francis sux, Yao suks, mobley suks, cato cant shoot"

atleast try not to make your posts idiotic and repetitive. ITS NOT THAT HARD. If you dont have something intelligent to say then DONT SAY IT

Thank you for listening and have a nice day :)

the problem is they are not a team. they are all individual players trying to do their own thing. this just sucks, what is JVG doing, their are two frigging ends to a basketball court, he has got to stop focusing purely on D

I think you should watch the Jazz games and pretend they are the Rockets. I dislike watching teams without a passing point guard now. This is the most unorganized I've ever seen the Rockets. Les Alexander needs to wake up and see that his team looks like a load of garbage.

The only reason to watch the game now is to see more of the cleavage that prances up the stairs towards the camera.......:p

I said at the beginning of the season. Not only players need to make adjustments, JVG also needs to make an adjustment because this is the first time he plays against the zone defense.

Well, that has half the problem in the past. Rudy subscribed to the ISO because that's what was in the guards nature. They did the ISO the best. They *understood* that concept. He played to their *strengths.* Although he ended up drivng the team into the ground because of this.

Today, with JVG, he's trying to incorporate the team concept, but because of the nature of the guards, they just don't "get it."

This team's nickname should be The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.

Everything is one-on-one and isolation. How many successful teams in the league can win with this strategy? That's the toughest way to make a shot in this league. Every single shot is preceded by dribbling. That's garbage.

    Yep. Pass, iso, shoot.

It's not like the old days of iso, shoot. But it's almost as bad.

It just seems like they try to execute the pick and roll, or screen, but they just don't complete the motion. Then, they get into a panic mode and end up going ISO anyways.

I was so pissed earlier watching this game. Now im glad that the timberwolves are destroying the Rockets. The need to realize that they are playing horribly. I dont understand why I keep watching these games. I always think they are going come back, but they seem to just get further behind.
