Why does it feel like Opadipo thinks he is a lot better than he actually is... he is a good and useful NBA player. He can score some, defends well and when he plays under control can shot okay.... but he seems to think he Dwayne Wade or James Harden.... that may be something Silas discusses because Victor seems to think he has the perpetual green like to chuck.

 

If today, winning = losing, then yes we won, we won by alot!

Unfortunately we lost. No ball movement, Dipo chucking, House and BMac chucking, no team ball, too many ISOs, undisciplined play.

 

We need a back up true point. Bring in lonzo ball stone.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but most coaches, not just D'Antoni, stick to their rotation. The championship coaches know when to mix it up.

The main difference between MDA and Silas is that D'Antoni knew who his best players were and how to maximize them for the success of the team. I feel Silas tries to maximize even the role players even to the detriment of the team.

Silas clearly favors Wall-Dipo-Boogie and sometimes EGo over Wood.

And unbelievably, Wall-Boogie-EGo-House, in that order were his favorites even when Harden was here.

 

This really is not new.

Rockets just were not making their shots, lackadaisical on defense and gave up a crapload of turnovers. That is a bad combination.

 

Looking at the box score I can already see the issue: Dipo chucking, no chemistry with Wood and Wood getting way too few shots. Dipo can leave.

 

Love or hate MDA, he never put out an offense nearly as putrid as what we saw last night on the court in all the time he was Rockets HC.

Neither did Milkhair.

Neither did JBB.

This offense was godawful.

 

Silas still doesnt know where his bread is buttered.

Small ball switch everything unit is your best most efficient unit, offensively AND defensively.

I get the same sense since his first game. He is forcing a playstyle waaaaaay out of his reach.... in terms of actual skill AND basketball iq. He can't handle the ball, he can't pass, has no vision. He should stick to the PG type of play, great defense and facilitator on offense

 

First loss in 5 games, sitting couple of days in Oklahoma hotel can get you bored. Just regular season loss that's meaning less in the long run. On to the next one and they better come out flying on the court

 

This team without Wall is tough to watch. Tonight almost felt like a Vegas game.

 

Watching the game the Rox just werent hitting their shots. I mean its not like they were taking contested 3s a lot of those were open, and quite a bit of them were in rhythm too.

What sucked though is the Rox didnt stop trying to hit 3s, reminds me of Harden offense where they only knew how to play 1 way. Maybe the guys panicked or w/e but EG was the only one who started varying his attack. Dipo went into ball hog mode, he acted like Kobe when his playing ability was Smush Parker level. This game proves Wall is the better player cuz Wall knows how to direct the offense Dipo just took the worst shots imaginable kept taking contested 2s.

Silas has an issue in that he has favoritism on certain players in the lineup namely Tate and Tucker. Tate is a rookie there gonna be nights where he sucks in that case sit him quickly and put other guys in. Tate, Brown and Nwaba are all clones of one another dont fall in love with one guy and ignore the rest.

Speaking of getting ignored, CWood kept getting ignored and this is the game that really hurt us. CWood only played 21 mins and only got 7 shots, that just unacceptable. He should be getting the lion's share of shots and the offense should make him the priority. Dude had the 3rd highest FG of the team tonight and he played small mins and took a pathetic amount of shots. Thats on Silas.

Dipo and EG are more scorers than pure pointguards. if a team is able to stop there isos we are helpless. thats whats last night happend.
its good to have a wake up call like that. hope we learn from that.

 

Hope Silas learns from this first and foremost.
