Everyone looked halfway decent without Harden except for Capela who looked like an absolute scrub without Harden feeding him, smh....
How can you not like this Troy Williams young man? The dude is polite, charming, and can his 6 threes in a game. We're going to live without Upper Dekker now that we have Troy. He just lucked into an opportunity that people of his caliber deserve. Embrace it Troy. Earn this.
20+ points from 4 different players... that says a lot about us seeing that Harden, Anderson and A3za weren't in the list. I was pumped before the game and now I know why!
when is Ron Artest going to get honored? why didn't they do it when he came already during the season?
I remember Troy Williams playing really well for the Grizz. Why did they drop him. I remember Troy playing well for the Grizz against the Rockets.
Ok, serious post. Troy Williams is the 3 and D player this team needs. I know he is not a consistent player yet, but what we need in the playoffs is someone to come in to play some D (good defensive aware ss already) and the ability to hit shots. I just Morley had brought him up a bit earlier. No matter, let the young lad have all the minutes he can muster. He played 39 min tonight.
Glad that Williams got such an opportunity to shine. He can do a lot more than what he showed in this game, but wow, can he really light it up from the wing. Once he throws something down on the break, he'll be a fan favorite. Don't worry he will. I didn't expect that tonight because 37 minutes is his career high (and he was playing in Iowa last night). I hope Trevor can take Williams under his wing and help him with his stance and defensive footwork. Tonight I also saw a couple of glimpses as to why Morey has been so willing to hang on to Taylor--even if it meant losing other talented guards (like GPII (goodbye to Milwaukee today). 1) Taylor showed some true quickness to stay in front of smaller guards (the JJ Barea/Patty Mills types). He did that on a few occasions chasing Ulis and that gave me hope of an alternative matchup that we could try. (At some point, Trevor Ariza is not the guy we want chasing a point guard.) 2) Taylor can draw fouls from bigs when he drives because they have to cover ground so quickly. I think it will be hard for a big to maintain verticality and contest his quick drives (like they can with Beverley and Gordon). However, until Taylor has more time to develop his body, he's going to continue to get thrown around.
Grizzlies lose to the tanking Lakers on the same day Troy Williams led Rockets beat the tanking Suns without 3 starters. Coincidence? I think not!!
