If yao or tmac gets doubled or tripled, someone else must step out to punish them. If we have 2 or 3 guys with the shooting hand like Juwan now, we will fine. Sad, we have Rafer. And I think Shane should shoot more.
Every time when we played the Suns, I felt what JVG did was to magnify Yao's all weakness on the court. JVG needs to do a better job in developing Yao's stregnth when we play the Suns. Every players have pros and cons (maybe Kobe doesn't really have any weakness). A good coach can magnify the stregnth. That's why JVG can never coach a bad team without star players. I will be very disappointed if we renew his contract. I'm working in investment banking in Manhattan. All people stressed the importance of details but some just lose the general picture and strategic thinking. JVG is a typical New Yorker like those. He can be a good account, auditor, researcher, financial analyst, but never a good basketball coach
No, making shots is the key. You can't keep missing shots against the best offensive team in the league and expect to stay in the game. The irony here is that the Rockets seem to always leave their shots back home when they play the Suns. I don't know if it's mental or what, but I think the Suns just flat out frustrate us to no end and we can't react to anything they do.
Yao will never be a good jump shooter because he can not jump. Amare is much better than Yao on mid range jumpers.
