Check this story out from the Sun's website: "Good as Yao is, this night to the contrary notwithstanding, Amare is better. In fact, when you factor in his age there is not a single player in the league I would trade him for, not even LeBron." http://www.nba.com/suns/news/gilmartin_050311.html Yao Shuts Down Suns By Joe Gilmartin, Suns.com Posted: March 11, 2005 If only the Suns had read that fortune cookie before the game. The one that reads, “Wise man confronted with Great Wall of China try to go around it, not over it or through it.” Same thing goes for The Great Wall of Houston, a.k.a. Yao Ming. The Suns were doing just fine thank you as long as they tried to go around Yao, which they did for the better part of three periods. But in the fourth quarter they decided to go through him by launching a series of ill-advised charges directly at him under the basket. Big mistake! Yao had a double-double in those final 12 minutes alone, with 14 points and 10 rebounds. He also blocked two shots and altered a half dozen more. Worse yet, he totally frustrated Amare Stoudemire, who suffered through a 1-for-6 stretch and was clearly beside himself, because of what he believed to be assaults on his person that went undetected by NBA officers on the scene. Mind you, this would have been a tough game to win even if the Suns hadn’t decided to call Yao out, so to speak, not with Tracy McGrady pouring in 38 points in one of his patented shooting displays that are a delight to watch except when you are his bullseye for the night. Still, even with T-Mac on fire the Suns managed to take a four-point lead into the fourth period. But they were outscored 41-17 the rest of the way and out-rebounded 20-7. In their defense it should be duly noted they sorely missed Shawn Marion, who sat out the game with a sore knee. Not only did they miss his obvious contributions, like rebounding, scoring, and defense, but his versatility is one of the main reasons Coach D'Antoni has been able to afford the luxury of a so-called “small,” high-scoring, highly entertaining lineup. But with or without Shawn, if you’re going to play small you better play smart, and the Suns didn’t in the fourth period. The good news is there are some lessons to be learned from this experience, and if the Suns learn them well enough this could turn out to be a blessing in disguise come playoff time -- although offhand I have to admit I can’t ever recall seeing a better disguise. I definitely expect Amare to learn that no matter what they do or don’t call, you can’t let the officials take you out of your game. And a check of his remarkable progress to this point indicates that once he learns a lesson it stays learned. Good as Yao is, this night to the contrary notwithstanding, Amare is better. In fact, when you factor in his age there is not a single player in the league I would trade him for, not even LeBron.
this was probably one of the most enjoyable games i watched since uh, since i cant remember. If it wasnt for a few cliquish dorks who sent there dork rays through my comp and shut it down from the chat room, it would have been.. well screw it, it was still a beauty of uh experience. what a game, what a team, what moments in rapture.

It's Joe Gilmartin, of Suns.com touting his own player. No big deal. The_Yoyo and Visagial did not write it. They just got too close to the quote!
This dude is an absolute fool. What did Yao do this game? Only locking down the paint and putting on a dominant display on defense. And he registered a double double in the 4th quarter. And what about Amare. He scored 7 pts in the second half on 2-10 shooting. His defense was nothing as the Rox got whatever shot they wanted in the 4th. And he did a lousy job of boxing out Yao who pulled down 9 offensive boards. Fact is, until Amare starts pulling his weight on defense and the boards, he'll just be a bigger stronger Dominique Wilkins, fabulous scorer and highlight reel dunker, but not a winner.
it as if he is, after what Yao did tonight against Amare..as if he is trying to sway fans back cause he knows what he saw and knows what he felt there for awhile while watching Yao do what he did against Amare.. he doesnt want them to feel the same way he felt.
