Well. That's how our team is built. This could apply to any other situation, if Motie is missing his hooks, if Dorsey is missing wide open layups, if Harden is off, etc. A well varied offense is key, I will admit, we are too heavily dependent on the three ball but that's our strength. It'd be dumb to become a paint only team because that's gonna kill us.
They've been letting up when they get a lead for three seasons that I've watched. Harden doesn't, but the rest of the team does. I mean, does the concept of "this is working, let's keep it up" not enter their minds? Can we hire an assistant coach whose job it is just to motivate the Rockets constantly?
The sh-tty defense is on McHale. Despite the 3 points in 6 1/2 minutes to start the 3rd, they still had a total of 73 for the game up til that point. That's very good. But not if you play no defense at all and allow the other team to rack up 81. It's matador defense and that's inexcusable. They're not even attempting to deny penetration or draw a charge.
