I do not think it was us shutting them down, but rather them just getting cold and they pretty much do that with all other teams. they blow people up in the first half, get cold in the 3rd quarter and hot again in the 4th.

we always have problems with younger and or fast teams, i.e. jazz, suns, hornets, celtics, raptors....

The things that killed us in yesterday's game is the fact we jacked up 38 three pointers and only made 13 and the fact we got out-rebounded 55-36.

Those numbers will not cut it, especially against a RUN N GUN offense like the Suns. With those three pointers missed, The suns grabbed those long rebounds and pushed the ball up court and scored.

Yes, we did jack up alot of 3s in the 3rd quarter but we were making them and it slowed the suns down. However, if we're not hitting the 3, we need to pound it down to Yao or T-Mac needs to be T-Mac. I've read about how the Suns don't have a killer instinct. T-Mac is just like that. He is really lacking it. It really bothers me. Me and my friend got into a huge argument about this last night saying how he likes the way tmac is playing. I think it's bull**** and I believe games like this he needs to drive to the goal and make things happen for himself instead of jacking up those r****ded shots.

If all this happens, The Rockets can take out the Suns easily especially since the Suns lack Defense.

It became very obvious last night that we'll win even if Tmac was 4 of 16 but we'll lose if he insists on correcting these numbers with 3 mins left in the game and the game hasn't been decided yet.
I'm in favor of trading TMac and bringing in a winner(Garnett).

Definitely agree that we are missing Snyder, badly. If he sees daylight, he drives to the hole without hesitation, and can finish. I love that about him, and he's strong enough to bully his way in there. I think Kill Bill has a lot of that ability as well, but without the seasoning. I wish Alston and Head could finish a layup like Snyder or Hayes. Of course, I wish Hayes could drive to the basket, lol, but you know what you get with the guy. I'd rather have seen Alston and Head drive to the basket instead of jacking up endless threes. Like I said somewhere back there in the thread, they'll be watching a HELL of a lot of film on this loss, and it won't be fun. Take the three when you're wide open (as you should frequently be on this team), and can get set in your favorite spots, but don't live and die from behind the arc.

Lil Lee mentioned above how badly we were out rebounded. Our guards aren't going to grab many offensive boards when they're tossing Hail Marys from downtown.

JVG's teams need to play disciplined to be succesful. His system requires that. TMac is smart and gifted, but he isn't disciplined. Leading by example is easy to say than to do. If your top players are not disciplined, players like Rafer will follow. TMac can't expect to find his shooting back in the game by firing those ill-advised bricks, he has to prove that to himself in practice first.

I just don't know what's going on in his mind right now. He's way smarter than he acted last night.

The pick n' roll last night involving Tmac and Novak worked like perfection. Now if they could only incorporate Yao into that play it would be pick your poison. Yao easy layup/dunk, Novak wide open 3, or Tmac to the rack! :D

this is very true --i would like to see those 3 plus rafer and battier---if all of them focus on rebounding i think it could work.

If he kept feed balls to Yao last night, we definitely would've got a good win.

This is exactly right. That is why I said deep down in the bottom of their heart, they are selfish, especially Alston. Tmac needs to realize that scoring less does not make him a less supperstar. He can become an all around player and be great.

Rockets need to stick to their own style which is a slow, half court type of game. Look at the spur, they stick to their offensive style no matter who they encounter, but they adjust their defensive style depdending on what opponent they have.

why blaming Yao? If he passes the ball most of the time, why can't Alston/Tmac passes the ball back most of the time when Yao repost? Why didn't Yao just brick it and Alston/Tmack just bricked them?

I couldn't beleive how many times TMAC kept jacking it up ....he had a much worse game then the score showed...its weird, when we need him to score (when the game is in reach), he can't hit anything...as soon as we are down 13 with 3 m ins left and the game is over, he starts hitting...its like the pressure gets to him....why the HELL does he not drive the ball when he sees his shots aren't falling from the outside?!!...JVG has been praising (more like a$$ kissing) TMAC all season and for the most part, its deserved. but JVG needs to step up and tell TMAC that he needs to drive to the basket....you have to coach him too...don't be scared of the guy....all he does is praise him alll the time like he's scared of hurting his feelings.....

Wow, I just read the recap on NBA.com for the game.

    At the bottom

    http://www.nba.com/games/20061129/HOUPHX/recap.html

    Lol, Steve Novak not Shane.

Makes me think, damn a player with Battier's defense and IQ and Novak's shooting would be sick.

Stats without context can be misleading. Novak's second 3 pointer came after the game was all but out of reach, much like TMac's last few 3 pointers. One for three 3-pointer shooting is not something to write home about, especially for a supposed "sharp shooting specialist."

I prefet to keep T-Mac, we can still see his great skill "on and off" (though is not as consistent n reliable as before) i would see T-Mac only having mental problem not back problem, if he can seek professional help, he should be able to come back to the t-Mac we knows, and at that time, weshould get the ring without doubt :D
