TMac had a bad game, and he was injured.

His confidence is what is missing....he will be back....and the Rockets will be better than ever.

If a general sucks, the whole army under him sucks, but if a solder sucks, the army should be fine. It is just that simple.

Billups grew up in Colorado and played at CU, so the Nuggets would appear have an advantage Houston doesn't have. As far as money is concerned, Detroit would have an advantage and Joe Dumars has stated he wants to re-sign Billups.

Having a player take a pay cut after a contract has already been fully executed isn't an easy thing to get accomplished (even if the player and his agent were so inclined), because of the collective bargaining rules. There are ways to defer salary owed under a contract (restructuring), but an outright cut in salary isn't really an option.

Juwan has a 1 year player option of 7.4 million at the end of next season. If he dare pick that up, the Rowdies should go straight to his house!!! T-mac + rafer earns 21 million this season, and increases by 3.5 million per year through 2010. I pray they play better than today

Plus the 2nd game of a back to back on the road, with snyder out, bonzi no where ready to be a 3rd scoring option and YES against Phoenix...

All this considered, a respectable loss...even with all the bricks from the 3 and tmacs/alstons poor play.

I have to say that I'm DAMN PROUD of this team!

They showed me a hell of a lot.

They had every excuse to get completely blown out tonight.

They had every reason after the 1st quarter and halftime to pack it in and except it just wasn't their night againt a VERY good team.

No, they fought back and actually took the lead and had a chance to win this game.

This team showed me character, pride and heart tonight.

I know they ultimately lost, but I guarantee tonight will be a win for this team in the long run.

Rookie Shane Novak got his first start for the Rockets, going 2-for-5 for six points.

Sigh, no respect from AP journalists too. But I'm one of those who advocate not giving Novak much playing time, giving him time in practice instead. I wonder how Hayes would've done against Marion or Stoudemire (shudders at thought of highlight dunk). Respectable loss nevertheless. And with Yao only taking 11 shots and making 6 of them is more than enough comfort.

The team just ran out of gas. Most of the shot attempts in middle of the fourth were just short, they had no legs left. On a normal night the Rockets win this one. Im not worried at all. :)

Your post have zero points. They are rookies. They are ALLOWED to make mistakes. Those mistakes did not cost us the game. They will learn from the in game mistakes. JVG should play them more and have them prepared for the playoff.

JVG gave Novak like 10 minutes in 1 month and started him against the Suns? Was he trying to make his point of not playing rookies or giving you JVG apologists some excuses to defending him in the next two seasons?

I didn't watch the game so please don't flame me if the question I'm asking has a perfectly legitimate reason:

Why did Yao only play 28 minutes, when he still had 2 fouls to give? And why did Yao only shoot 11 times? I thought with the Suns we have to bang it to the inside, give Yao the ball (a bit like what the Lakers did). In essence, what happened to Yao in this game?

We lost a game, and the sky is falling.

Oh, we are 10-5 now BTW!

    Question:

Are we ever supposed to lose any games?

    Just curious.

The only thing I can say about JVG playing Novak as a starter is STUPID!
He is destroying the kid's confidence! Furthermore, why cannot he stop T-mac from bricking?

2 fouls middle of the 1st quarter and 3 fouls middle of 2nd quarter. When he played again, he shy away from penetrators, mostly Barbosa.

Tmac took all the shoots. I think he was trying to find his touch with volume shoots. He only found his shoot last minutes of the game, three 3 pointers in a roll which really made his FG% look not so pathetic...

Oh, agreed, I am not down on the team because of the loss, not at all.

It's mainly Rafer and our lack of quality depth that concerns me. Even McGrady not so much, because he is a smart player and he will no doubt make the right decisions more often than not on most nights.

I watched the game on TV. T-MAC did try to be a passer during 4th quarter, unfortunetly Rafer and Battier didn't shoot as well as yesterday, and he tried to step up, but his touch still not back yet.

im going to have to agree with many points made tonight...

first off the game plan should have been to run the clock down as much as possible.walk the ball up the court if you have too...

did we forget were a half court team?

Chuck should have been in the game as the starter to protect Yao....

im sure we all want to see Novak play.... but we were expecting limited minutes and him to come in at the right time......just not starting the game and playing the most minutes at the postion...

we should be playing more zone... if our game plan is to force the outside shot...what better defense then to play zone...

the ball should be feed to Yao... on every offensive play....

i thought he was the first option... lately it looks like Rafer and Tmac have decided they are the first options...

Yao should demand the ball and... take the shot when he sees no one it hitting the basket...even if doubled and trippled...

Tmac needs to be the playmaker... and get Yao those easy shots... whats up with all these jump shots he is taking... he is not using his game smarts...

Rafer needs to pass the ball first then pass it again....and then when he is thinking about a shot... pass it again....

bottom line is...Yao needs to shoot... and stop defering to anyone else...

Tmac needs to understand that even MJ didnt start winning titles until he became the playmaker...

we need to use Yao or lose him.... get a under sized PF to play center...
