pretty easy to answer your question he does not set them up right and you think about that, and then come again
I agree he wouldn't get tired so fast and into foul trouble if he wasn't chasing Steve Nash around all night, but JVG will lose all of his hair before he concedes to letting Yao stay in the paint. The good news is he's almost out of hair.
JVG's initial game plan played right into Suns' strength. You don't counter an offensive team with your weaker weapon, which is your own offense. You want the opponents play your game. Somehow JVG briefly lost his stubborness when he should have stuck to his gun, and that proved to be the fatal mistake. The starting lineup with previously rarely used Novak has to be one of the dumbest moves of all time.
I know it's back to back on the road, against the running Suns. I know our shots were not falling, and I know Yao was in early foul trouble. But I don't believe TMac is hurt, if he's hurt, he wouldn't/shouldn't have shot that many times, because that would hurt the team. I don't know what's going on with him this season, he was so pumped up in the offseason, seemed to be so hungry and confident. How? Looking at his shooting form, his body language, I don't believe he shoots well in practice at all. Then, where was his confidence coming from? Something is wrong with TMac, it's more mentally than physically. Hopefully he can get it together.
Agreed, but look at Garnett or Kobe. Also, he always talks about that, but in reality he is in his 9th season. If a guy went into the league at 22, he'd be 30 or 31. That's on top of 3 or 4 years of college ball as well. Most guys still have a few great years ahead of them. It's kind of frustrating because he's only 27 and acts and talks in interviews like he is 37. Love the guy, but I hope he can kick it into a higher gear at some point.
WTF???? Do you even watch the games? Novak nor Billy were the reason the team lost tonight...mistakes happen to everyone... Heck, look at Alston. and that tear drop that is only called a TEAR drop because it makes the Rocket fans cry it is so pathetic. ZONE ....HELLO !!!....JVG.....ZONE...and rest your starters for crying out loud. This was a lot like the San Antonio game where the other guys rested their starters, we excelled and then when they brought their rested starters in, we caved. How many 3 pt shots hit the front iron in the 4th quarter...HMMMMM????? DD
TOTALLY agreed....why play to their strenghts? I want Novak to play, but not at the expense of Hayes, who, along with Battier make up the defensive quickness and protect Yao. DD
Yao was'nt tottaly overwelmed by amare. he was overwelmed by the triple team's that were sent his way. the suns knew we couldnt hit a damn shot from anywhere.hence they collapsed on poor yao. i blame rafer and to some extent tracy for this.
That's actually funny, because you see, here I thought Yao missed 20+ games on his toe injury, which actually hampered him since before he got in the league. Of course, there's also that little factor of him playing all year round. How interesting that the same little injury bit applies to Amare and not to Yao, especially considering we saw a huge change in his game when Yao finally got injury free. Furthermore, Yao and Amare, one of them isn't being fronted and doubled/tripled every game. I'll let you figure out which. Also, could it be possible that Amare was better? It could. But that doesn't mean **** right now, 2006 - 2007 season. Yao has left him in the dust. Yao is playing at an MVP calibre. Amare is not. So only an idiot like you would be stupid enough to argue that Amare is better at this point in time. So in summary, you are a moron. Not that it's a surprise or anything.
how many times did he get the ball in the 4th quarter? how many times did he actually SHOOT it. Yao has to demand the ball. this was Yao of old, letting others take the responsibility, but HE has to take it.
u still don't get it. watch lakes vs suns game early this season. and see what is right game plan against suns. i am mot talking about yao's slowness, or greatness upon his size or under any conditions. i am talking about IQ. i am talking about a right game plan against suns. PJ use 7 playoff games figured out the right plan, but JVG still no idea, what a idiot !
I'm actually proud of the rockets. the hardest thing to do in any sport is to win on the road. we're coming off a 2nd half of a back to back against phx. people need to realize that. down 23 and we took the lead...we're not playin good basketball right now and we still have 10 wins....im not gonna get down over this loss...lets go rockets!!!
1. When Ming gets in early foul trouble, our chances of winning the game go below 50%. 2. Why did we start Novak when we were doing so well with Hayes starting? 3. Why would you start Novak and play him so many minutes against an uptempo pressure team like Phoenix when you haven't let him off the bench for the last how many games? 4. If Howard is worth playing in all these other games, why didn't he play tonight? 5. Spread the floor and get the ball to Yao. Did we do it? 6. If Yao is doubled when he catches, then somebody is open and should be headed to the rim. Especially when you ain't hitting the 3 ball. 7. McGrady has got to find his jump shot. 8. Novak is totally lost defensively and he is slightly lost offensively, not getting to the screen very quickly. 9. When Yao is in foul trouble and McGrady is not hitting shots, we still do not have a definitive 3rd option that can create their own shot. Luther has been fantastic but he is not a creator, at least not at this stage of his career. It starts to look like hot potato out there with too many bad shots at the end of the shot clock. Bouncey was supposed to be the dude. Hamburger! 10. Luther Head has zero midrange game. Sad, for such a great 3 bomber. 11. Rafer-average finisher, streaky shooter. Still way too much arm and not enough legs in his shot. He will be inconsistent unless he learns/remembers that the word jump is in jump shot. 12. VSpan has to develop offensively and he should be running pick n roll when he is in the game and he should be handling the ball. Yeah, he might turn it over a few times. But he's got to learn. We need that dimension added to this team and we need his defensive quickness. 13. Despite all this, this was the 2nd game of a back to back on the road, against one of the best teams in the NBA and probably the fastest/quickest team in the league. We came back from 17 down and took the lead. Everything we are doing wrong or poorly is fixable. And Van Gundy knows it. I ain't worried about McGrady. Let him coast until March. He'll be big in May and June.
i believe this lost will do more for the rockets rather than winning. last years rox would have been blown out by 30+, but this year the rox are showing they can dig themselves out big holes against a tough team. although t-mac is playing sub par, and hopefully not too much longer, we know have a pretty good supporting cast. if the rox want to make any noise in the playoffs we NEED t-mac. Yao can only do so much and t-mac needs to start stepping up soon, very soon. I also believe t-mac hit rock bottom tonight with one of his worst shooting nights ever. before tonights i was convinced it was t-macs physical game that was off but not only did he not want to leave the bench after the game he had his head down most of the game. this leads me to believe he has some serious mental issues. like i said i think he's hit rock bottom and hopefully the only place he can go is up. WE NEED YOU T-MAC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HEY ZBOY....................YAO BLOCKED AMARE, THEREFORE HES BETTER!!!!!!!! lolol u sound dumb............................ "HEY, STROMILE IS BETTER THAN YAO U KNOW WHY??? BECAUSE HE DUNKED ON YAO NASTY!!!!!!" LOL mite as well say that too smart guy...........i guess u didnt see the playoff series where amare embarassed tim duncan with NO CREATING OF SHOTS FROM NASH................ or maybe u did and u jus need some "sense knocked into you." LOLOLOL
The early fouls killed Yao tonight. And with McGrady shooting (and shooting, and shooting) the way he is, with Yao hesitant because of the early fouls and never getting into a rhythm, it's a miracle we were in this thing in the second half. At one point, I thought we were going to lose by 30. We just have to put this behind us and move on. What's with Tracy? Remember the block by Marion? Look at it on replay, and if T-Mac has his usual hops, he would have gone right over him and scored. Dead legs? Hurt? Somethin' ain't right there, folks. Hope it goes away.
