This was the first game I'd seen Harden play in person since New Years Eve 2013 (I've been to one other game since then and it happened to be one of the five he's missed in that span). Despite watching him on tv often, it's easy to forget just how special he is. This was a masterful performance and yet, it's a far cry from his best performance of the year.

Anyways, this Harden guy is good. I hope we keep him around for a while.

It's mostly because they played "My Sharona" during timeouts.

    FABULOUS FIRSTS

The Denver Nuggets scored 90 points in the first half of a game against San Antonio on Nov. 7, 1990. Three days later, they gave up 107 in the first half against Phoenix, the most ever.

    FAN INTERACTION

As the first half came to a close, a fan yelled at D'Antoni from the stands. "Sit down Mike, you're up 40!" D'Antoni, a former Suns coach, turned and deadpanned, "It's 25. You can't count."

Well that game was pretty much everything I hoped it would be.

Paul looked absolutely amazing. Harden dominated. 90 point half. Exciting stuff.

You should be thanking me. If it wasn't for this post they would have not achieved it.

WOW crazy how little defense was played and how hot we were. Harden looked smooth as hell. CP3 was also just crazy efficient and those passes are amazing. That sequence with Capela was just off the chain. Still wish he wouldn't pass up those mid-range shots, but it seems like MDA already beat it out of him...:( When we had 90, you just knew they would not even reach 150. It's natural to let up a bit. Still, very nice game against a team that has some talent, but we're just too good.

I agree...the place is empty at tip, and there will be huge pockets of empty seats in the lower bowl for the entire game...it’s also pretty much dead the entire time unless it’s a close game with under 2 minutes left in the 4th

I think Tilman should dim the lights MSG and Barclays style to cover up the empty seats

I missed it because I went to bed. But I can only surmise Adam Silver is trying to destroy Zhou Qi's career. no other explanation for it.

It went beyond my expectations, Paul and Harden were just amazing! EG will get more dangerous once he adapts coming off the bench. We need one more talented player, to complete the squad without having to give up too much.

Not defending the media because most of them are scum and morons. But are any of us really surprised by the Rockets thus far? Maybe I wasn't expecting 12-4, but I was anticipating them to be pretty good up through this point given the relatively light schedule. They brought back most of the same squad that went 55-27 last year. Harden for all his postseason faults is a brilliant regular season performer. EG and Capela have picked up where they left off. Tucker and Mbah a Moute have added some defensive toughness as expected.

The big factor everyone keeps mentioning is the absence of Chris Paul, but again, should we Rockets fans be surprised by the team's success without him? They were missing Dwight for literally half of the 2014-15 season and managed to win 56 games that year. And that was with Kevin McFail coaching on the sidelines.

it surprises me that the reason for the rockets success despite having only 1 superstar or having 20M in salary not playing is being bashed and hated endlessly

the more successful you are the more haters you get

The weird thing is how Bullard claims he changed the arch on his shot. I noticed last night he rushed and leaned on some of his threes and didn’t use his legs properly. A lot of them were short so not sure if that arch change is a good thing.

A great offensive performance by the Rockets.

But I don't understand why Harden and Ariza are playing 35 minutes in a game that was practically over by the first quarter. These are the kind of games you play the bench guys earlier. MDA is playing with fire here - more minutes in garbage time needlessly increases the risk of injury and the likelihood of Harden running out of gas at the end of the year. Our layups and 3s philosophy doesn't work with tired legs and if we want to be a contender, then MDA has to limit the minutes when he has that option. Tonight he clearly did and should have sat Harden for longer stretches.

Harden was playing a few extra minutes to see if he could reach 50 points. Ariza played a little longer than normal because Mbah a Moute was out.
