Yeah I thought of the game 5 against the Mavs as well as I was typing that. And that was one of Donaghy's admissions later on. However, as egregious those calls in that game were that were VERY pivotal might I add, if the Rockets were truly the better team in that series, they would have won it. Maybe game 5 was lost because of those late game changing bad calls.....but even then teams like the Kobe Lakers or the Championship Years Spurs squads would somehow not be put in those situations during critical junctions and get the short end of it. Great teams create their "luck" and that starts with how they approach the game at the tip and building leads, defense etc.

Now, even in losing game 5, that had no impact in the Rockets losing by 40 in game 7. The better team that year won as always in a 7 game series.

Yep, agreed that the smaller quicker defenders can be pests. But that can only work for so long. Rockets just have to be sharp in their team help defense down low to have a chance to take game 2.

I think we come out focused and ready and we win this one going away. Harden sits out the 4th because it's a laugher. We have to come home 2-0 and we will. Am I trying to speak all of this into existence? Yes...

I'm terrified, but that's how I feel before every Rockets playoff game.

Sometimes a team just has another's number in the post season. It does appear the Rockets are peaking at the right time though.

I wasn't "terrified" during the OKC series, but I just didn't feel as good about the OKC games as I do about the Spurs games. It's all about matchups, and after seeing how the Rockets and Spurs match up in game 1 (not just the blowout aspect) compared to how the Rockets matched up with OKC (even the 30-point game 1 blowout didn't feel great based on the Rockets' play), I can't help but feel the Rockets should be able to take care of business.

the Rockets just have the speed and athleticism advantage...no doubt Pop will make some adjustment, but either you're fast and athletic or you're not

Rockets have to keep playing at a high level defensively and push the pace...I think we had 105 possessions in game 1, that type of game is way too fast for an old team like SA

play good defense, push the pace, and shoot at least 35% from 3 on a ton of attempts=win

It was nice to see Bev's aggressive intensity all up on Parker and Mills in game 1. He really challenged them.

It will put the fun back into the NBA if we beat em'! The bigger they are, the harder they fall.

Bottom line is Rockets were great in putting the "Shock" element into game 1. They hit the Spurs hard. Now it's a whole new ball game and the Spurs will be even more ready than they were game 1. They're going to hit back hard as well. Rockets need to be ready. Games progressively get more challenging.

I can stomach losing to the Cavs a lot more than losing to the Warriors, if that means anything.
