Isiah was known for his defense? He got alot of steals, but dumars was the defensive stalwart among the 2
Morey has been in love with Rubio for a good while so I'd be shocked if at the very least rumors don't start flying again in the offseason.
I dont think that Tiny or Jojo really made their teammates better. Changing the criteria it seems.... Not a huge fan of Brooks, but at the minimum he doesnt monopolize the ball, can shoot some. He is fine as the point guard if the pieces around him play to his strength. Still... I have a sneaking suspicion that you will get your way and a different point guard will be brought in via trade. Dont need a "real" point guard, or even a good one to win a title. The Rockets, Bulls and Lakers all won multiple titles with mediocre point guards. The real problem is that the Rockets lack a true top 5 franchise player. Kevin Martin is good, similar to Alex English or Adrian Dantly in the 80's.
AB is just being AB. You don't what you'll get from him next game, or even next quarter. That includes his shooting.
You apparently never watched Tiny play defense... great is not the term to use. Isiah was not a great defender either, he was often out muscled on the court.
You need a first option in the 4th quarter... Princeton style offenses go to crap in the last couple minutes of a tight game unless everything is PERFECT... The value of a Kobe/Lebron/Pierce/Johnson/Ginobili/Carter/Wade... We do not have a first option closer, and our backcourt is physically unable to effectively guard any top team. Recipe for disaster in the playoffs, when the defense goes to another level.
LOL keep fishing till you can find one set of traits that no championship PG has had. Nme me one seven foot five Chinese center who has won a championship. Brooks is fine. We were one game away from the WCF last year with Brooks. Dont know why people ignore the 42 million on the bench and 3 rookie rotation players.
The motion offense only works in regular season! Once the playoffs start, its a different kind of animal! The playoffs are all about the half-court and once everyone realizes that, you too would want a point guard that can distribute the ball rather than one that shoots the 1st oppurtunity he or she gets! Rick Adelman even knows that! His teams are great at motion offense, but once they get to the playoffs, they can run a half court game as well. Once Yao comes back, are game is gonna change dramatically.
He just turned 25 and it's his first full season as a starter. Gasp, shock, young players are inconsistent. Who would have thought it.
Someone who knows what he's talking about. If the shots stop falling everything goes to hell. This league is built around playmakers. If you don't have them you suffer.
Isiah was MILES better than AB as a defender. Tiny was Lebron James to Aaron Brooks. If we had Tiny no one would be complaining about anything. Are you expecting AB to be an Isiah/Tiny type? The sheer greatness of those players proves how impossible the task is for a small PG.
You don't even understand what a motion offense is, apparently. The motion offense does not refer to a full court fast break style of play, it's about movement without the ball in a half court set.
