What was Snapper's response to Walton, when Walton said that Tmac would be in the MVP race had he started the season better? Anybody catch that? I think he's ABC's designated Rocket hater.
I'm not saying their going "special defense" on this guy, hell the TO raptors with loren Woods did fronting and with success, The team gave Yao a breather on fronting D by having everyone on the team more involved in the offense and going to yao less particularly during the win streaks we racked up. But with this game and subsequent games following T-mac being somewhat injured and this team and Van Gundy choosing to go to Yao more it is proven again the fronting D is very successful in making him a nonfactor. Yes he has 10 points but how many times was the ball turned over and how many passes were denied leaving broken desperate plays? Side note I can't believe T-mac said in interview with NBC Question "is the game easier with Yao? T-mac " yes I don't have to score 25 to 35 points a game. " Hmm, aren't we like 18 and 2 when he scores 30 or more points? T-mac is being nice but Yao hasn't really made a Consistent difference this season.
Because as much as I hate the Spurs and hate to give them credit, they are a VERY good defensive team. And from what I've seen this year, the Rockets tend to play the type of game that the other team wants to play, so these matchups turn into nasty, low-scoring affairs.
There have been several games this year where T-Mac has scored below his average... and we've still won. He couldn't dream of doing that in Orlando.
our offense will kick in in the second half. horry won't score 20 (double his first half score) so they will have a tough time scoring. on our side....wesley and sura hanvt scored yet. we will win this game! ROX:82 spurs:78 GO ROX!!!
the spurs are doing a great job of messing up our sets. we need to just go back to basics: P&R with tmac and yao.
That is why JVG is calling the timeout. We had 3 chances to take the lead, and turned it over every single time. The Spurs are obviously just going to play the passing lanes, since they have nobody inside to stop penetration... that's what we're going to have to do.
With all our struggles, we are tied. T-Mac is 7/12 from the field, playing hubbled and injured. It is sad that an injured guy is having to play like this for us to even be in the game. That defense on Yao is killing him, but last possession was CLEARLY a foul. But if you are not aggressive the refrees will let you suffer, they are consistent in that aspect.
How the hell was that not a foul for Ming? Jesus they sandwished the guy and banged him around like they were playing ping pong, in a bad p*rn movie that would have been sexual assault. sometimes the refs are just a holes.
the difference is that the spurs are not letting us pass by challenging everything including even getting a time out, were just being lazy and were lucky they are not shooting good, but if they do, were in trouble
It probably was a foul... but the refs have been consistent on both ends of the court today. They're not calling the inside stuff, but they are calling ticky-tack stuff on the perimeter.
doesn't it seem like hubie brown doesn't know what he is saying have the time when they call a foul? is it that just me?
Interesting mini-interview with Jon Barry. He is saying he doesn't know if Yao will get that selfish part going or not to be a great player, because he is truly a great team guy and it is all about the team, never about himself, and he gets down on himself whenever he doesn't play well, feeling that he let his team down. Jon says he has had to talk to him some times because Yao gets so down on himself sometimes (the frustration part that I keep mentioning, that he gets down too hard on himself and it affects him). It is just part of Yao's culture guys, he will NEVER change. Just accept him as he is, nothing will change in that aspect. It is sad that such a nice guy and a team guy like Yao suffers because of what makes him such a nice guy, but that is the nature of the NBA. Great players have some selfishness in them, that is just how it is.
It particularly hurts us this game, because the Spurs don't have an inside game (thus they don't need the foul calls). It definitely would be different if Duncan was in there. Most of the time, I think the refs focus more on calling it even for both sides and supertars, rather than just calling what is a foul and what is not a foul.
