The butterfinger hands kill me LOL HOLD THE ****ING BALL!!!! We need to get him into some drills this offseason none of that China game stuff this year Yao..you have to work on your game
What makes you believe you know Yao is not playing hard? Playing tentative, thinking too much, or too hard on himself? Maybe. Not playing hard? bad Work ethic? No. Anyway, I should learn not to put too high expectation of the intellegence of a BBS, just like people should learn not to put too high an expectation of Yao Ming.
Everyone in this board is frustrated by today's game. I believe Yao played hard but not to his max these days. Sometime it is not easy for a center to step up as for a PG or SG. Guards always control the ball and decide where it goes. If they decide to step up, they can shoot the ball. But if a center decide to step up, he may not even get the ball, especially considering yao's inconsistent play style. Except shaq, any center in the league always takes over games?
yep ur ryt, yao needs to learn to play with or without the refs, when that happens and when he realizes that he needs to be aggressive more often is when he'll become a much better player....but good point.
I'm not a Yao hater. I'm the opposite if anything. I'm just tired of giving Yao credit where credit is NOT due. It seems like he plays with such inconsistent effort. Is it too much to ask for YAO to play his heart out every game?
This blame game got to stop now. Seriously, so whenever Rockets lost or when Rockets win, some posters always get on Yao's case. Yao did his part today, it's just a over all bad game especially from our other players. TMac was spectacular today, Yao was playing hard and did his part. People need to stop posting garbage like "why Yao so suck, he sucks as a basketball player", anybody with any intelligence knows Yao is a good basketball player. What did Yao have to do so people will think he's playing hard? Did he have to take somebody out and start a fight with somebody, or just elbow or shove whoever it's guarding him, so he can be perceived by some people as playig hard. You win some you lose some, we move on. There's a reason why San Antonio is so good at home.
Problem is we expect Yao to be another dominating force like we had in Hakeem, if we accept he is a mediocre player and makes great PR we are better off...Clearly if T-mac goes down in the long run we are screwed.... What I cannot understand is why Deke gets pulled when he does so well.......
Well it just seems like NIGHT and DAY from one game and another as far as Yao's intensity, involvement etc..... Granted the PG and SG control the ball, shouldn't YAO work extra hard during a certain game (like today) to get the ball??? Whether it's off rebounds, looseballs....I mean I just dont think the efforts always there. And why not pull the impossible and dominate every game as a center?? There are other ways to dominate a game without having the ball.
b/c deke has 0 offense and today WE NEEDED offense. Yao SHOULD have been more effective....oh well, we lost.
how do you know he did not? yao got 2 TO, that's his fault. he got stolen, yes! but did you see TMAC made two random pass and turn to TO also? You just focus on YAo too much! The big gap between ROX and SPURS is PG/SG, Manu and park both of them are very very good penetrator! what about ours? they beat us by attacking the hoop.
Hey good point....by the way I was the one who posted "YAO SUCKS" several times today. But to answer your question.....WHY NOT PUSH OR START A FIGHT?? I mean that's extreme but atleast that will show some passion. The reason I personally am coming down on Yao after this loss is not to jump the YAO hater bandwagon.... but it's to state that Yao IS as good as we think he is but we get SOOOOOO DISAPPOINTED when his lackluster efforts get exposed in losses like these.
DEKE was not play OK in the first half. the seond half when we had the lead, did you see MANU on the court? Also parker went to rest. when both of them on the court, we saw what happen
He will NEVER improve on the "holding the ball" part, have you seen his hand? They are extremely small for a guy his size, blame his bad genes on this one. As for positioning the ball above his head/close to his chest etc. that is something he can (and should) work on in the off season. It will be a looooooooooooooooong, painful learning curve for Yao. So enjoy the ride, and expect this much to be true. We will never be contenders until Yao's game completely takes off, until then we are just a solid, very good team that can't beat the Spurs in a playoff series, IMO.
Well I'd like to think Sura and James are pretty darn solid and coldblooded as well. Manu and Park have played together under that system for a longer period of time. But I think our guards are pretty solid. Wesley and Barry need to find their shots again..
Don't you guys realize that we fall in their scheme to play their game? IMHO, we should play our style to our strength instead of playing their game. Yao was not playing bad. The ball simply did not fall ...
