Quit HATING on Juwan Howard! Dude should not be playing the minutes he is now but we don't have anyone better and he is contributing at a high level. It's not his fault we lost this game. This team is undermanned, missing T-Mac and then Wesley during the game. They battled their asses off and didn't get embarassed liked most of you were predicting! There's still hope so long as we beat all other teams that aren't dallas or san antonio!
Rockets didnt have their closer, Tmac, when they needed him. Simple as that. Yao is the kind of player who will carry you for 3 quarters by dominating inside. But 4th quarter is Tmac time.
They beat us by driving and kicking. In JVG's defense, the guard's first instinct is to help on penetration regardless of whether it gives up an open 3.
Man, I know we hung in there with the defending champs (in their house) while being nowhere close to full strength, Yao is still playing like a man posessed, but a loss is a loss is a loss and it hurts ...
SPURS just a way better team than us. We fought so hard but still lost. Look at this HOU team, except YAO, which player is capable of being a starting player in other NBA teams? maybe like ATL/TOR
God the Lakers' defense is horrendous! LOL@Mihm! What a pu**y that guy is! Go Sonics! Lakers might lose this one, so we would've lost nothing by dropping to the Spurms
I totally agree about defending the guards. In all fairness, though, Parker is probably one of the fastest in the NBA. Most teams couldn't handle him, let along our guards.
When Wesley went out, it was just too much. This was a great effort. That's as quiet as I've seen an SA crowd on the tube. They are usually deafening. The Rocks put some fear into the Spers fans. I've been to several games there (when the Rocks played them. a relative has killer season tickets), and the SA fans are some of the loudest in the league. Damn shame we couldn't squeak out a win.
No shame in this loss. Most folks had written this one off as a loss, anyway; for the Rockets to have kept it so close the entire game is rather impressive. Still a loss, though.
It's indeed looking more and more like Yao is getting the hang of NBA basketball. I still don't know how his stamina will hold up, but he's busting his ass and the numbers are showing he really can't be guarded. Even though it doesn't look like our three-point numbers were all that bad today, I think this is the worst collection of shooters around a dominant big man that I've ever seen. When David Wesley went out, you might as well have just camped a Tundra Dancer at the three-point line to put up these babies. WANTED: SHOOTERS.
Kobe just got away with a surefire technical right there...gotta love those Lakers-friendly NBA refs Kobe is shooting like 20% for the game or something...hope the Sonics don't choke this one away.
