Yao needs to set up deeper in the paint like he has been, with flashes to the middle and reposts. That's the only way he'll be effective right now, going toward the basket.
Wesley is so damn vital to this team... his defense is taken for granted, and he's one of a few players who can actually hit an open shot on this team. Thank goodness for Bogans...
They've completely gonr away from the gameplan that worked in the 1st half. Get Yao the FREAKING BALL!!!
The Spurs are throwing everybody's man at him... Alston's man, Head's man, Howard's man, Bowen's man (of course).... we simply don't have enoughs shooters (especially w/out Wesley) to combat the Spurs defense.
Hit an open shot? Good thing I can't watch this game because everytime I watch him he's bricking a shot.
You cannot get the ball to Yao when he is double teamed even before the ball comes to him!!! He is being sandwiched by 2 spurs player because Ryan Bowen's man is sitting in his lap.
Notice how as soon as Ryan Bowen got in the game, the Spurs are doubling Yao with his man relentlessly. And it's not like Bowen is very effective covering Finley on the perimeter.
He demands enough respect that they won't leave him wide open too often... and thus it gives Yao more room to work down low.
That one play was telling. Yao gets the ball, he throws it off to wide open Ryan Bowen and he just passes it on the perimeter. Thats one way to render Yao useless.
