now..Im not saying that you arent.....but I with regard to some others here... I really wonder about that. btw..I didnt go ballistic on you.....that was mild compared to some of the stuff I say here at my keyboard and dont type. the closest to ballistic I go is what I just posted above. peolpe like sheepheart irritate me since if someone dares to say anything that isnt kissing GodYao's butt...the scream at them and tell them to STFU!.. ohyea..buddy...that is really gonna get me to shut up........NOT now.... my point remains....if you are making progress towards your yearly goals...will you or will you not get canned before the deadline your boss has set for you? you answr....but do not directly address the fact that he was given till the end of this season to play right and help get us to the playoffs......improvement and progrsss is being made........why is that not enough to show us that the goals ar being met?
Noone expects perfection. I'm sorry, but salary determines arguably how much you should contribute to a given entity. It applies everywhere in the world from the NBA to corporations making products. If a CEO making millions kept on making mistakes, he gets fired too. Fortunately, the NBA allows for players to be traded, so that a high salary player can be exchanged for someone else.
You make it sound like rebounding is as important as putting the ball in the basket. Scoring is paramount in the Western Conference. This isn't the Eastern Conference where teams can survive on grit and effort. Western Conference teams need to shoot well.
I've already explained it. And everything has been cleared up by ttboy. I wasn't talking to you and why were you responding? Perphaps you would make yourself look more lovable and less assinine if you would just stop representing other people and throwing your **** around for a minute.
Charvo, please explain how I made it sound like rebounding is as important as putting the ball in the basket. My intial post regarding Yao's rebounding was a response to 'newmemo1' who was questioning why Yao only had 4 boards. My response was: Rebounding, especially offensive rebounding, is very important, especially to a poor shooting team. Yes, it would be nice to improve our FG%, but that is unlikely to happen with our current crop, so we need offensive rebounding to increase our FG attempts and points scored.
so it is ok for you and others to throw dirt around but it isnt for anyone that disagrees with you? real fair... glad to see you are interested in being fair..... as for being lovable........HA....I could care less what you think of me. or any other whiney little YOF. I am, and have always been a ROCKETS FAN...I like ALL of the players on my team... I cheer for them...and cuss them...and crticize them....but in the end....I still like them. a real shame some others of you cant say the same. makes me wonder why you are even here... btw....by postin on this board...you are open for ANYONE to respond to you...so dont pull that "I wasnt talking to you"... BS Ill damn well respond to whoever I feel like...you dont like it? Do like Yetti and bury your head in the sand and dont respond....I coudl care less.
I think you and I may have different interpretation of progress SF has made. SF is one of my favorite players on this Rox team and I expect a lot from him. IMHO, SF and Yao togather will determine how far this Rox team can go. At this point of season, I am very concerned about the high rate of TOs on SF's part and I am very concerned about the his lack of discipline during crunch time. I am not giving up on SF and probably never will as long as he remains a Rox. However, I think it is ridiculous that SF should get a free pass because he "worked his a$$ off". That's my whole point. Don't you agree?
we do agree there. I am not for giving him a "free pass"....if he was making zero improvement in the important areas...I would bash him almost as much as others do.... but the differences between what he was doing in the past and what he is doing this year(as far as attempting to fit into VG's way) is noticable to me. I am of the opinion that anyone can learn to play a certain way if trained correctly....by VG's own statements...they spent alot of time early in the season learning his defense and didnt work alot on the offense... And during the season, there isnt a whole lot of time to practice...so if his improvement seems slow...maybe it is understandable? My main deal is....you dont give up on talented players easily...there just arent that many players in this league that are as talented...and realistically attainable by us.....so it behooves us to be fair and give VG time to effect the necessary changes. Giving VG a year to change SF's iso style to a more team oriented game isnt unreasonable imo. to whine and b**** so much because we dont see a immediate change is not being realistic... IF....for whatever reason...SF is still here next year...AND hasnt made the changes that we(and VG) ask of him.....then you will see me full force into the bashing club....because I am only willing to give him a year under VG to make the change or I want someone who will. that is my position on SF in a nutshell.
I just watched the replay of this game. Some of the posters are just dead on, they know what they are talking about. Keep the good work you guys.
Most of player's rebounding numbers goes up and down, it all depends on how your team and your opponent shoots the ball. As a center, Yao hands around the basket most of time, so against long range shooting teams like the Spurs, all Yao can do is to try to tip the ball to the direction his teammates at. He's 7"6, and he is a slow leaper as we all know, so he can't move the way that you and me does.
