Take it easy London. Look at it this way: This team will be overhauled in the off-season. I think it's patently obvious to all in the organization (even CD) that SF, Mobley and Mo Taylor have got to go. Thier style of play, their basketball knowledge, their desire to play within the system, is simply not what it has to be for the Rockets to contend. Railing against their dumb play and cluelessness is a waste of time. This team's fate was locked in when they did not make a trade for Mobley at year's end. From now on, I expect them to be up and down for the remainder of the season and it would not surprise me in the least to see them miss the playoffs once more.

I confess that I did not have high asperations for this team when the season started - all I wanted to see was clear progress on the court. Well, they have improved immensely on the defensive end but they are still clueless on the offensive side of ball. Their progress this year has not been all that I hoped for and so here we/they are muddling through yet another year of mediocrity.

Rebounds are really just some statics numbers! Yao can get 10 of those a night if he just grab it from his teammates hand like Cato and SF does. A good rebounder not only take the rebound, but also box out and tip it to the right dirctions so his teammates can get them.

Our guards get no respect in the lane.
They can be bump and broken and not get a call

    same with Yao

Why is other teams shoot better from the line against
us than they do any other team?
If they shoot 60% as a team
when they play us they shoot 80%

I would prefer if he would have grabbed some of the 22 rebounds that Duncan and Rasho had.

Its obviously a stamina issue with Yao. He has been very aggressive on offense, expending lots of energy, in the last 10-15 games. He's working very hard to get open, and score, which has been great. However, his offensive rebounding is down when he does that.

It's not a stamina issue moreso than it is a morale issue. When the rockets go to Yao consistently and EARLY, he gets energized with every made bucket. When they use him in garbage time to pad his stats so that they (guards) don't look bad, he'll struggle to run up and down the court.

The whole team whines. Granted, the game wasn't well officiated, but a lot of that, like it or not, comes from being the aggressive or even the dominant team.

I get tired of watching Steve flopping his arms and stomping around like a spoiled child, and of Mo and Cato nagging the refs after every single call or no-call.

And did it help when JVG gave the players a list of all the refs and their names to tape up in their lockers? Why not get the refs' family names too? "Hey Tommy how's Gina doing? No, I'm just asking. By the way, you really &%·%$·&ed up that call. He was all over m---what?!?! You're gonna T me up for that?!?!"

Thats very troubling... Are you saying Yao only plays with passion if he is getting the ball?

I don't understand the people here. We lost to Spurs, the reigning NBA champions, who has possibly the best player in the whole NBA now; we stayed close for 3 quarters, and ended up losing by 9 points. What is so bad about this? Why is everyone trying to find someone to put the blame on? Are we even "supposed" to beat them in the first place?

I don't think it matters what our records vs Western Conference teams are, we are only here to make the playoffs this year, and it looks like we are on the right track. As long as we beat who we are supposed to beat, I am more than happy.

From what I learned in another thread, apparently, wins against western conference elite teams are worth 2 points. So it does matter which teams we beat.

    way to avoid my questions....

    wonder why you do that?

dont use it as a opportunity to go on a bashing rant again...you have plenty of opportunities to do that in other places....

    Answer my question directly.

Why isnt SF given the rest of the season to adapt?
Why must he be judged on half a season when he has clearly made improvements in adapting?

did I use that as an excuse?

    NO

dont divert your answer to answer someone elses excuses...

    I asked a simple question.

if someone has been given a year to accomplish a goal(changing style of play)......why the hell are some of us so intent on giving up on it now...when progress has been made to achieve that goal.
If you were making progress towards your goals...and still had time beofre your evaluation...would you want someone coming along and judging your results before the alloted time had expired?

forget f*cking money...Im so tired of hearing that...Do you think that EVERY player making obscene amounts of money in this league is perfect at all times?

If (and I do quality that IF since I also believe he has alot of work to do) he achieves the goal by the end of this year...(the goal being fully adjusting to doign what VG is asking of him while still maintaining his career shooting percentages) do you think he would be worth the money?

If you thought for even a second that he could do what is asked of him..while still being a star level threat that defenses have to account for....would you be willing to let him get away because you wouldnt offer the money that any other team inthe league would have offered?

What questions did I avoid? You asked whether we should judge SF in the middle of this season. I said probably JVG couldn't, but the fans in Houston certainly can, coz they gave him almost 5 years. Honestly, I hate bashing, you believe it or not:) But if you have to use that strong word, I still think that fans paid their money to watch games and spent time to discuss about them, of course they have every right to critisize or even bash. We want to see effort, not only the effort to work hard, but more the effort to improve. Lots of people critisize Ming's lack of aggressiveness in the beginning of the season, I am not saying he's as aggressive as Shaq now, but you can certainly see his improvement. That's why lots of people like him, coz he doesn't think he's there yet, he tries hard to improve his game and the way he plays within the system. He still needs to be more aggresive and improve his rebounding skills and timing. No doubt about that. But once you see he improves, what does that make you feel? You feel confident he will improve again. SF3 on the other hand, his passing skills didn't drop after JVG's arrival. People just didn't get the chance to see that part of his game, all we see is his athleticism. And I guess it's just not enough in NBA today. We all know he's not going anywhere in this season, can fans still critisize or even bash, sure why not? Honestly, I don't think we can get good value return, that's why I am against trading him in offseason. But certainly, I am not satisfied with his performance. That's why we expressed our opinions. If you call that bashing, so be it.

Totally agreed. Yao should forget about boxing out his man, forget about chasing after the opposing guards when they got by our guards at will, forget about setting up high picks for our guards and usually dont get the ball back, forget about trying to block the shots from the weak side and being posterized. Oh no, that's definitely doesnt look good on ESPN. Most important of all, snatch the damn ball from his teammates in midair and proclaim "are you satisfied now, Rockets2K!"

so, in your opinion, Yao's rebounding needs no work?

Last night, 4 rebounds was the most he could have gotten?

And I answered your question. If I don't perform on my job, I WILL GET FIRED before my next performance review comes up. Is that such a difficult concept for you to grasp?

BTW, I am not a YOF. So don't go ballistic on me.

With all due respect Rockets2K, you can't ignore the f*cking money. SF is paid an enormous amount of money to do this job and he should expect a very high standard from us.

Finally, I never propose any trade to rid ourselves of SF. Please don't treat anyone who expresses any kind of displeasure toward SF as your enemy. After all, we are all rooting for the same team.

go back and see if I make "ANTI YAO" comments. You wont find any...

go ahead...I challenge you... got any balls little man?

put money on it...or put your sig on the line....

go back and see if I unfairly criticize him.......I DARE YOU.

if you want somewhere where peolpe arent allowed to criticize..go back to your little home at yao.ming.mania(cs).com and leave us alone.

    gotoloveit and sheepheart,

are you denying that he did not rebound up to par???
you are perfectly satisfied with his rebounding performance?

so....let me get this straight......the rest of the team can be criticized ad nauseum for little mistakes and subpar poerformances....

but GOD FORBID WE SAY ANYTHING ABOUT YAO'S SUBPAR REBOUNDING......

    oh..ok I understand now....

Pay no heed to the man behind the curtain.......

    fricking whiney b****es.
