The games Rocket lost this year in almost identical way. they are consistent anyway. JVG already mentioned it many times, They just never got it, or nevr want to listen it.
main focus of the rest of the season: Yao: Improve rebounding Steve: Practice Catch and shoot. reduce TO by passing the ball to anyone (but the other team) and don't whine MoB: Mo: learn to pass Cato: control his temper
It seems to me that Cato's points come 95% on dunks. Their was a situation in the 1st quarter where he was 2 feet away from the basket and he had 2 chances to lay it in and couldn't.
Hell ya I'm serious. Yes, the Spurs did a nice job defensively, but you can't tell me that the officials had a good game. Steve got fouled horribly at the end of the 2nd when he made the shot. Cat did not charge at all, the guy was still moving and Cat was already in the air. You can't tell me Horry can knock the ball over SF's should while he is in the air w/o touching him. Manu flopped so many times and the refs fell for it everytime. MoT doesn't grab rebounds with 1 arm on purpose. Hell Yes I'm serious, I see the refs throw games everynight on my League Pass. I also see the Spurs and Mavs getting calls all night long.
Kenny Smith can probably hit a jumper better than Steve now, and Kenny Smith hasn't played NBA basketball in many years.
Spurs is just a great team. They beat KG and his gang on the road two nights ago and that should tell you something. They are the best team in the league now. The way I like the Spurs team is that everyone knows his role. And it certainly helps that they go to TD whenever they need a bucket. They have good outside shooters in Horry, Turk, Manu, and even Parker. They have the best D in the league, and Manu and Parker are exceptional in going to the basket. Like the Kings, they live and die by the system. The day the Rockets truly buy into JVG's system and live and die by Ming, they will become a much better team. I also still hope that SF3 can contribute significantly in the system. I have to give him props for sucking up his ego and tune down his game to defer to Yao. If only SF3 can be 80% efficient in the system.......
I am with you. As physical as Spurs played again Yao all night long, Yao was only able to get 1 ft attempt. Duncan, on the other hand, got 10.
i am with too. look at the pics on espn for this game. how could yao get only one call. the pics show two instances yao got fouled.
Seriously! Some referees in this league HAVE TO GO. I have seen nothing but bad calls, no calls, and one sides officiating. If they can just call whatever ways they want to, at least CALL ON BOTH SIDE!!
looking at those pics from ESPN.com it looks like the Rox were really roughed up.. if some of those are not fouls I dont know what is.. Yao had arms all over him. J
You guys are so typical. Any loss is SF fault reguardless of what happens. If you really want to place blame, there is plenty to go around, but look that the PF position. None of them showed up. You guys complain that Steve shoots to much and turns it over too much. That didn't happen today. Our point guard should not be the leading rebounder in any game, no matter how good he is at it. Do half of you guys even watch the game or you you wait for it to end, check the box score then blame SF for everything? The guy certainly isn't perfect but you guys create reasons to rag on him and it was old 3 weeks ago.
Well said, he worked his A$$ off for the team for years and now he has a bad one and ya'll want to trade him, comeon even the gratest players have off years. Steve has a good chance of playing the 1 for JVG in a good way just give another year then see.
care to tell us how telling the truth about the rebounding situation constitutes a SOF? the man is 7 freaking 6 4 rebounds??? Yao is the man when it comes to hitting hs shots...but damn! 4 freaking rebounds?????? he was absolutley showing tired legs from last night...cause he didnt seem to be able to outjump hardly anyone onthe glass.
