Yeah, I think JLIII has a hard time seeing the floor because he is short. He should only come in when Yao is sitting.

They had the game listed on:
    ESPN
    ESPN HD
    Fox Sports
    KXAN (local Austin)
    KXAN HD
    NBA League Pass

I've come to find out that the Rockets are always blacked out on Fox Sports (through the same infuriating trial and error). I don't get the HD channels. After that, it was a crap shoot between ESPN, Local, and League Pass. Unfortunately, I didn't even notice it was on ESPN last night when I set it up.

Generally, if a game is listed on League Pass and another channel, the League Pass is usually correct... except tonight. Bizarre. It was listed on League Pass, but an entirely different game was shown on that channel.... and the League Pass archive isn't carrying it either.

I saw a team effort tonite. Much needed win for Rox.

After this game, I hope JVG would notice that he doesn't have to play Yao and Rafer every min to win games. Rox is a good team, and it takes teamwork to win. JL3 did a good job tonite. I am proud of them.

It looks like Fox Sports is replaying the game at 12:30 tonight. Does anyone know if replays are subject to the standard blackout rules?

Of course ESPN is replaying 2 NBA games tonight. The Phoenix and Boston games.

I don't know why Jet Li's Fearless happened to be there, but the rockets would be fearless against anyone with tonight's performance + TMac.

    A few random thoughts:

First, let's make it clear that the Spurs played like crap. Without T-Mac, they most likely underestimated us. Very uncharacteristic defensive performance... Un-Popovich like. We should enjoy this win to its fullest because I don't see any blowouts vs the Spurs in the future. Seeing Parker take Alston to the paint and scoring over him looked pretty bad. He should've taken more shots, and they didn't really take advantage of Duncan's height when Hayes was guarding him.

This is what was so awesome about winning this game: The fact that we went 4-17 from the 3pt line and blew them shows that we don't have to live and die by the three. Bonzi gives us a much needed inside presence on the offensive end, and Howard has found his midrange shot (TAKE THAT ZBOY, YA JERK!). 4-17 is still pretty bad though. Instead of trying to hope we shoot better next time, we should just limit the attempts to about 10-13 shots. Position Rafer much closer to the basket, like where Juwan shoots his J's. I believe Alston can still nail the 15-18ft J, and/or he can drive and dish or utilize his streetball skills to score.

Dikembe Mutombo is Santa Claus in real life.

I didn't get to see Bonzi's elbow on Ginobili. R2K, please include that in your clip vid, and then you or someone else make a GIF! On 610AM, a caller compared him to Maxwell... he always looks like he has a chip on his shoulder. I'm glad he's on our team!

    A surprising and great game!

    Yao dominated early on.

Penetrations by other Rockets were unexpected by Spurs and destroyed Spurs defense set for defending Yao and Rockets' inside to outside game. Yao's foul trouble actually kept Spurs to play against the team that surprised them.

Well and Howard played the best game of their own in this season. Well is expected to play that well and will be the 3rd offense option of Rockets. He has good post moves, passing, and mid-range shooting. Howard is above his average today. Everyone else played hard and well.

Spurs did not respect Rockets early on and played without much energy.

Spurs' bench was crappy and outplayed by Rockets', thus Spurs could not catch up. Finley is over.

    What Rockets can improve further:
    1. More creative feeding the ball to Yao. Yao was slowly taken out of the game in 3rd quarter as the feeding to Yao was so predictable and Spurs better defended Yao.
    2. Yao needs to stay out of foul trouble, especially when a guard drives to him.
    3. Alston should practice 3-point shooting.
    4. VSpan should too. You may already notice that JL3 played more minutes than VSpan recently, although his penetration is not as good as VSpan. The reasons I think are VSpan's poor 3-point shooting and still high TO.

Finally, the announcers were pathetic, taking all chances to bash Rockets. But Rockets won!

The best win so far for Rox. This could be a turning point for the team. Head had 11 As and Bonzi is a key. A great gift for Christmas.

I spent all week worrying about not having T-Mac for this game because I was going to S.A. to watch it. OMG we spanked them so bad the San Antonio fans were crying and complaining the whole game, making fun of yao and talking about their 3 championships. I just thought to myself, "why bring up the past when the rockets are whooping you *** in S.A." We played dang good with the exception of some bad turn overs and Rafer was pretty off tonight until the 4th.

Alright, I was at the game, and there is no greater feeling than talking sh** to spurs fans. The red rowdies walked through the arena throughout the nite yelling "Houston!!" "Rockets!!", it was a helluva time. We talked smack the whole game to EVERYONE who deserved it, and the spurs fans could only shut up. No better feeling when they started leaving in the 3rd when we were up 20. I know the spurs didn't play their best, but we won. We broke their streak on us. And we won without McGrady, and only with Yao for 2 quarters. You shoulda been there. My vocal chords are gone. I talked so much smack. It was great. The best aside from the championship years.

Have you ever noticed that Rox has been performed very well when games on ESPN. Every player becomes a fighter, they want to prove themselves and kick asses of the Rox haters.

Great to hear this! I was at the Spurs game in Houston, and it seemed that a third of the fans were Spurs fans. They were talking a lot of trash after the game, but they sure were biting there nails up till the fourth quarter. Paybacks are hell. Way to go Red Rowdy’s!
