yeah we don't have cohesiveness. we have offensive sets but it seems like only one guy is doing well at a time. we need all 5 guys to be playing well and solid every game. And defensively we need help!

    Positives:

    1. 4th quater defense is pretty good (except that 3pt by Robert when no one was guarding him, no wonder JVG was furious)
    2. Yao only had 3 fouls and was effective at the boards late in the game. And he carried the team on offense in the 1st half.
    3. Tmac got double-double, the scoring in 4th quater once again proved "impossible is nothing".
    4. Luther Head once again played very well in limited minutes. Tmac, Yao, Swift and Head, Rockets have a promising young core.
    5. I think Swift played well on both ends, especially late in the game.

I think Rockets is improving steadily, at least less 4th quater collapse. I am optimistic that the guards will turn around and then the rockets will be fine. "The winter is here, so the spring is not far away." :)

Yep. last year when they were rollimng on all cylinders. we had Wesley and Sura knocking down those open looks. hence it freed up yao to opreate more freely. lets hope we start hitting those looks real soon.

We would be 6-2 with a healthy Mcgrady. That's a fact, dadgummit.

This league is just not what it was in the mid 1990s and before, it's not a veteran's league anymore. The league today thrives on young talents, and that's how this team must become to adapt, and not go against the tide if you will.

Our only problem, as I see it, is STILL our backcourt. We already know we'll have one of our future 4 guards on this team, and that would be Head. Now, we have three more positions to go once Wesley and Barry are gone, and may be then move Alston for someone else, or if not it's not a big deal I guess.

Let the old guys go, let's rebuild our other positions of need through smart drafts/trades/and most importantly scouting overseas and elsewhere.

No 'quick fix' will work, patience is required, because we can't throw money on all of our problems with two top-salary superstars already on the payroll.

Up front I agree, but in the backcourt they are MILES better than the Rockets.

Parker is much better than Rafer, and Manu is much better than Anderson.

Our guards are killing us this year....

I think Rafer could make a difference if he starts playing a LOT more loose....penetrate and dish occasionally....got to mix it up some....

I'm sure this team will eventually catch on, but it better happen in the next couple of games. SA and Dallas are slowly starting to run away with the division. We'll end up being third if we don't start winning on a consistent basis soon. I really hoped this was the year that we would at least finish ahead of Dallas. God I hate Dallas.

UNBELIEVABLE. Aside from Yao disappearing in the second half offensively, I go give him props in playing almost the whole game.

And he's still standing, that's a good sign.

Barry only got 10 minutes of play tonight.

Of course, Head managed to score 11 points in 19 minutes, so go figure...

Unfortunately the team only let him shoot once in the second half of 42 min. :( What a waste!

I agree but we may... I doubt it... but we may have lost two of those games.

but counting preseason, we're 10-2 with a healthy Mcgrady.

Head has been solid from pre-season up until today, what else does he need to do to get the starting job. I swear Skip to my CRAP !!!!! Is just plain horrible.. He was driving for an open lay up and I told my uncle.."whatch he'll miss this shot," and sure enough he did. I so bad want to be positive but I'm seeing most of the team missing wide open jumpers and dribbling around with their heads cut off and just turning the ball over. Think about it !! If we would not have given up so many offensive rebounds we could have won this game. REMEMBER....WE HAVE BEEN IN EVERY GAM THIS YEAR BUT ONE..AND WE HAVE PLAYED BAD..3-5 , We will get better...but we have to lose ALston :p

Funny and somewhat ironic, since that was the SAME exact complaint last season, and one that led to our first-round exit.

As someone already said, We have Yao-McGrady-Swift-Head down as hopefully the future young core of this team, but sadly we still have a looooooong way to go with our backcourt; we need guys to fit the system, i.e. shooters.

Actually that's a really good point. I forgot about the guards. My next question is do you think Rafer will become the "rafer" that we need over the course of the season?

'M Still gonna give Alston a month or two. if he has'nt found his groove, then i'm worried. he needs to stop giving a toss what others think. Rafer, play you're natural game.
