Interesting. It's a big challenge. Ime will have to use flexible lineups, including Tate, and perhaps Holiday to match up with Klay on D. Amen and Tari need to have big games and Cam needs to make 3's off the bench. I'm all for giving Reed backup PG minutes, when FVV needs a breather. Sengun must have a big game.

I don't see him being better than AD cuz I don't see his offensive game getting to his level even if he defensively eclipses him... AD being a perennial MVP candidate with one 3rd place finish is a hell of a long way from being in the goat convo.

What happened, Alpi? Last season this guy was playing at an all star level. In all the first games of the season, he is playing like a softie, no self confidence, and very weak. He is even allowing small players to snatch the ball from him after rebounds. Is his nutritionist feeding him with crap? Ime said he is lighter this year this year. Is that the reason why he looks like a weakling lately? I keep asking questions about this guy because the team needs him to play at least at the same level as last season.

 

Good point. I read few times a number of years ago, I don't recall exactly who made these statements, but he said that players are more likely to get injured if they don't play hard. I hope this is not the case though.

 

This is actually true in almost all sports, even heavy contact sports like football, hockey or rugby. If you hesitate when you take contact you massively increase the chance you get damaged compared to if you power into that contact full force. The easiest way to get hurt is to shy away from the contact when it comes.

 

I think he isn't confident because he got injured. He missed quite a few games. He will need time to get going. Adams is a different type of player, but he can be a mentor and a source of emotional support for Sengun.

 

Two things can be true at once... Silas didn't do a good job and he also was young and needed to get stronger.

 

To the second about putting on weight... Yes this could potentially, but to the first thing absolutely not.

 

Don't know if it's early season rust or officiating being more friendly to defenses so far this year, but NBA scoring efficiency and points per 100 possessions has dropped substantially compared to the last couple of seasons. The last couple of seasons had a raree big jump compared to previous years in scoring pace and efficiency so maybe the league thought it was getting out of hand.

Or its just rust. Because as of right now SGA has a worse scoring efficiency than Jalen Green and I doubt that will last for the entire season.

 

Im going to need Sengun to watch this on repeat from now until next Wednesday
