Imagine if we actually ran some of the kind of sets they run with Sabonis with Alpi? Oh we can but dream. We'll just have to work harder on defense instead sadly.

Houston Chuckers showed again. You cant win games with chucking 41 shots 31% unless you outplay the opponent.

Agreed. No matter how good a play a coach draws up, it falls on his or her players to execute it.

I’d love to imagine that because it would mean the Rockets are maximizing the skillsets of their two best offensive players which will make the entire offense better.

Any hot Kings staffers we can use to try and seduce Mike Brown and get his ass fired so we can replace Udoka with him? Seems to be a good way to find the next coaches in our rebuild so far, we've got defensive culture, now we need an offense.

What if the coach draws up no plays and expects the players to conjure something out of nothing? I'll refer to this as "the Ime paradox" going forward.

This team can be very good with a few tweaks. They need to change their style to suit their personnel. Need to constantly attack offenses with Cam Jalen and Amen. Keep the game open and run. Free Cam and Amen!

Free them all tbh. We still don't maximise the break. We also don't even utilise Sengun's passing that much. Fred's outstayed his usefulness, he slows everything down too much and he doesn't create any advantages from the point. I actually think we'd have more success running Jalen than Fred at the 1 at this point, and Jalen is not a PG.

I know everyone is ******** on the head coach - but a lot of these issues are player and roster related.

I am in the minority but I actually think the Spurs have as much on court talent as the Rockets - mainly because they have a superstar that plays both ends.

This Rockets roster has a lot of unproven players - they cannot shoot and are inconsistent. That’s not coaching.

Im not claiming Udoka was good tonight - just that the lack of perimeter shooting and consistency are huge impediments to the team winning.

good point. Amen showed us in that Memphis game that he is quicker off the dribble and just makes quicker decisions than Fred. That should be looked into. Only limitation is his shot. But i think it could work if his role simply is to drive and dish or as a roll man.

Sure, we have issues as a shooting team - no argument there. But you know WAY too much about basketball to not see the issues in the offense. We don't run a basic pick and roll properly (I know you don't need me to show clips of Sengun getting a too early pass over and over with his defender still in front of him) we don't try and create a mismatch in the post for Alpi when we do post him up, we just give it to him in the post - big difference. I know for a fact you're knowledgeable enough about the game to see that we spend all our time chasing our opponents on defense and they almost never have to chase us on offense. Is it all Ime? No, but he also could be doing a LOT more to get us easy buckets. We don't run those few basic plays we run with solid fundamentals at all. And we run very very few even then. Most of the time we don't even have backup options in our "plays" we just reset and start again from the top after the defense already shut it down the first time. Yes, it's up to our players to execute, but the coach could also scheme to make it a LOT easier. Both of this things can be true (and are.)

**** no, Silas was just as bad on offense, he just somehow managed to gain an unjustified reputation as an offensive mind by stealing Rick Carlisle's (actual offensive talent) glory.

Tonight showed what everyone's concern about giving Sengun a max, terrible defense.

Also showed you need a superstar in this league cuz Wemby is gonna be scary af in a couple years.. especially if they get another lotto pick next to him.

Green played like a superstar tonight and was the only reason we had a chance to win but is also a reminder this rebuild will have essentially be a failure if we don't get at least one top 5 player out of it.

This team is good enough to be a yearly playoff team once our players reach their primes but are they good enough to win it all? Doubt.

The Spurs have less talent in the overall roster (everyone except Wemby) but they have absolutely the main guy of the future......undeniable.

Very likely the face of the NBA in the decade to come.....if Flagg or someone else cannot catch him.

A lot of open shots missed. A whole lot. We can scheme up some more plays but it still comes down to missing open shots

That is the thing, we are still stuck in misses and makes.

Whenever we can be dominating without shooting well, that is going to be a real contender.

Then the hot shooting will become the Plus that blows teams out frequently. One can wish.
