I still don't like our guard play...James, Luther, and Francis look like crap.

i think we're looking all right. the spurs are making a lot of shots which i don't think will hold up all game. we've scored enough in the paint to not worry me too much. our shots will fall in the second half. i liked the closing lineup we had out there:

    yao
    shane
    bonzi
    tmac
    rafer

come on rox in the 2nd half.

It was close. I'd say it was pretty good half for him. Of course he needs to get his J goin'. But I like his agressivness.

Yao also looks good but damn, Bonzi made 2 3s.

Our game looked a little better at the end. We can beat them but only if we play defense

What worse is a lot of our FGs that usually fall just don't score.

SA having an "on" night is no freak accident. They are a consistent team. In 7 game playoff series, don't count on them having too much off nights. Rosen is right, until we can learn to get this kind of consistency, we shouldn't be put in the same breath as SA.

And when you consider how out of kilter we are on both ends of the floor, trailing only trail by 6 at halftime...

It isn't so bad. The thing to remember is that it is easy to execute an offense against lax pre-season defenses. This game is more indicative of where we stand, which is a ways to go.

and he's still 6-14. his shot is just off. his fg% is still decent b/c he has driven, which he will do plenty this yr.

his Js all have looked good. just not going in.

Damn, spurs shot 55% to Rockets 40%. Only down 6. Something is working right now.

i thought yall would know better than to say "orlando t-mac is back!" after one hot shooting night. like i said before, t-mac's a streak shooter. he'll go hot just as much as he'll go cold.

and bonzi always could shoot. he could hit 3s early in his career. nice to see he can still do it.

Tonight we play almost all our best players, but Spurs? no Ginobili, no Obeto, so 2 of their 5 starters do not play tonight.

The Rockets will never win 50 games if they are going to bea guard shooting team. Yao Ming must be a big scorer if the Rockets are to be winners.
Yao just passing the ball is not going to get it done. It might take all season for the coaching staff to work it out! Go Rockets!! :p

Anyone still want Yao to play in the high post? I thought not.

Yao didn't get enough touches that half. McGrady started fine but is laying the bricks now. The Spurs couldn't miss. We're very lucky to be only down by 6.

So accourding to the box score they only had 3 TO's in the first half. Other things aren't working so well, but at least that's a lot better!

This is going to take a while for the new players to mesh with the new system and coach. It'll come.

well, that happens too. that's why i don't get why some ppl on here just get crazy after ONE FREAKIN' HALF.

players have bad nights. teams have bad nights. players have great nights (finley) teams have great nights.

that's how the ball rolls sometimes.

but we buckled up. got back in the game and CLOSED GREAT (a sign of a good team). that's all that matters.

they had A LOT of off nights v. the cavs offensively. the cavs just sucked.

u CAN shut the spurs down. but they always play great defense also so they shut u down too. at the end of games is where they win.
