This game suggests that our bench is now competitive with anybody's. When was the last time we could say that?
I loved watching SS play, but IMO we need another Big. If Yao/Deke are healthy then no problem. Stro can obviously play a little center if needed, but I hate to lose his play at the 4. Here is the line-up, currently 13+1: Yao/Deke Stromile/Howard/Baxter Tmac/Bowen Wesley/Anderson/Barry Alston/Head/Mooch (Sura injured) I don't know that Sura will ever be back the way we want him. Knees are harder to mend the older you get. I think by trade deadline Wesley/Mooch will be gone in a trade. We currently have room for an insurance Big and I think we ought to fill it.

Gracias Amigo for the video!!!! Did anyone notice Moochie moving his feet while holding the ball. I saw him do that couple of times in the game and was laughing at him and refs for not calling it. Nice win for Rockets and it feels good to see that we can score w/o tracy and Yao in the game.
DAMN! the only name we're hearing is STROMILE SWIFT in the torrent. Crazy game for him! blocked duncan twice and some nice shots and dunks! WHOA...y'all knuckleheads better learn how to spell Stromile!
Wow. I'm really impressed. Not impressed that they're winning pre-season games...but the way they look in these games. This is a very, very legit team.
so it looks like Luther won't excel as much as starting PG. but we all know he is pretty good when he comes in off the bench as SG. JVG should try starting Skip as PG and Luther as SG next time.
This is one of the few times where I actually like EVERYONE on the roster (Yes , even Mooch!) --although I noticed that we have 17 players on the roster right now. Does that mean 2 players have to be cut before the regular season starts ?
Luther has not played PG since high school...I'll bet under VG's teaching, he learns to be a legitimate PG..he already has the basics and the skill level for it...all he needs now is a good coach to teach him how to do it in the NBA. Gator, yes..two of the three...Langford, Hughes or GLover...will have to be cut.
I am impressed with Swift also, with one exception, he takes his sweet time getting back on defense, and on offense in some instances. I don't think that will sit well with JVG and might keep him from starting. Any thoughts?
SWift did play great and those 2 blocks on Duncan were the best. 15 points 4 rebounds 3 assists and 3 bloicks in just 20 mins is great production. The rockets have the team that can and should get to the west finals vs the spurs. WE will definetly get past the first round this year. I hope we play Dallas in round 1 cause I want to show those punks who the better team is once and for all. Can't wait for the real season. Go Rockets!!!
His conditioning is horrible, he was trying to "save" it. But he also had an excuse because the plays were designed for him to be at the top of the key to swing the ball around so he could be the last man down but not pause the offense much.
