is it just me or is it that the Rockets seem so... not together.. at all. It's pretty sweet that they won 3-0 in the preseason but if this is the case, they will be a monster team if they had last year's chemistry. that 0-7 start the spurs had shouldnt have happened. i know it's only the preseason and they just started playing together but i want them to be meshed already. :(

Awesome the Rox are undefeated and the spurs are now 0-4. Man, this could be our year.

My half-serious, half-joking theory is that Stro got a new tat (of the Rockets team logo, perhaps? :D ), then halfway through it realized, "Oh, crap, preseason's tomorrow."

Hence, "DNP - bruised forearm".

Of course, the odds are better that I'm full of what makes the grass grow. :p

If Mutombo were a Sith, he'd be Darth Elbow.

Thank the basketball gods he's ours.

Disappointed to hear Yao not playing.
But I was very excited to see Stromile come in..and I went crazy like it was the playoffs seeing Stromile play. Every single play..on offense and defense, he did something spectacular. That was an awesome first impression. Stro with Yao and Tmac is gonna be unstoppable.
In the second half, it seemed like he got a little tired. But definitely sweet.

And Luther Head is a really good player. He makes some mistakes, but I really hope we keep him and play him as temporary backup along with Moochie. Head plays great defense, and he has a good shot..and if you need him to shoot, he can run around like Wesley and make the shot. I think he can develop into a good solid starter.
Moochie..I laughed when he came into the game, but he played well! I'm surprised.

Derek Anderson is a good player. But it seems like he has a habit of staying with a guy on defense. He doesn't go for rebounds. He stays with his guy. Even if he's right next to the ball, he will stick with the guy he's supposed to guard. Maybe he's told to do so..or maybe it's a habit. But he has a nice shot, and he's a quick penetrator.

The Spurs are deep! But I think our team is pretty darn good.

I got pumped up when Deke and Stro were having their block party :D

Juwan also played better..maybe because he saw Stromile do well..so he had to do well too. Baxter still hustles. I hope we keep him.

Yao/Deke
Stromile/Howard/Baxter
Tmac/Anderson/Bowen
Wesley/Anderson/Barry
Alston/Head/Mooch (Sura injured)

I think Moochie has been away from Stevie and Cuttino long enough so he doesn't dribble, dribble anymore. Plus it seems he's making the 12-13 footers and floaters in the lane, which he did when he was 'fan favorite' Moochie. He was 'brick laying' Moochie towards the end of his first stint with us.

Wow. Impressive. I didn't think we could beat the Spurs without Yao. Stromile was amazing. Derek Anderson was great. I'm super excited about this team.

We played without our starting center and point guard. A rookie was manning the point. Our SG is ice cold. What did you expect? I agree that we're not as sharp as we could be, but I'll save my worries until the regular season.

I'm just happy we got the win. Our FG% was good, we finally had a decent A/TO ratio, Swift looked great, and we still put up points even when Tmac was out of the game. Imagine what'll happen everyone gets back. Yikes!

Let's not forget Wesley also had knee surgery, if I recall correctly. He's not doing too badly for an old man... good defense. Just wish he'd spend an extra hour or so a day in the gym working on shots.

I doubt anybody would be willing to give us someone better with a comparable contract. For that matter, there might not be anyone available that fits for a trade.

I'm sure if it becomes more of a problem, CD will be thumbing through his rolodex.

Take heart. Chemistry takes two things: time and wins. The preseason so far has given them a little of both.

As for critics of tonight's sloppy play... again, it's the preseason... but it's also the frickin' Spurs, as Dr. Evil might say. The Spurs can make anyone look shaky... especially themselves. ;)

im also talking about games 1 and 2. they looked the same. someone in this thread even said that this game looked better than the previous two. :( However, we did pretty awesome considering the lineup

Edit: I've never seen Swift play but he was pretty dang good tonight... before Mutumbo decided to take him out :p

Agreed. Francis was the main culprit in making bonheaded plays, and now with him making life hell now for Orlando fans, maybe moochie is finally playing more like he should. i also think, Alston has had a calming effect on moochie. i think moochie does deserve a spot on our rotation, if he keeps playing like this.

preseason or not we have a pretty deep team im excited.

Come on cant the regular season start now!
and I know JVG always likes having 3 PG's... so it sounds like Moochie might be safe for this season I really do like the guy. Good luck Mooch keep up the good work.

Rafer / Head / Mooch (Sura is injured)
Dwes / JBarry
TMac / DAnderson
SSwift / JHoward / Baxter
Yao / Deke

I hope Sura recovers soon but I dont know where he will play.
