All I know is, Jeff's going to come back and say we were lucky to win, what with 20 turnovers, we were lucky T-Mac had it in him to pull this win out for us in the end. I hope this win doesn't go to their heads and they start looking past the teams coming in at home.

I loved that Rafer turned it around in this game and Howard was productive and Battier and Hayes were doing the dirty work on the floor (literally). We would not have been in this game without our defense.

That's actually the kind of thing JVG won't let his team do. You know how he thinks every game in this league is tough and all...i'm sure he'll be preaching focus and intensity on the way home. He'll also be blasting the turnovers tonight.

It was a good win and he won't overlook that but he won't let those 20 some odd turnovers go un noticed, that's for sure.

As I posted posted in the pre-game thread the Spurs are faultering.

Rockets are having a better month than the Spurs. I still wouldn't discount the Spurs come playoffs or think the Rocks don't need to add one or two more pieces.

All teams have their time, and all decline eventually.
Spurs are clearly declining this season. I wouldn't be surprised if they only had a 40 - win season next season, and soon some blockbuster trades maybe next next season.
Of course, they could just be waiting for the playoffs, as they are a playoff team really. Coasting right now. They're still my third least desirable playoff opponent, after Suns and Mavs.

Why isn't T-Mac considered an MVP candidate? Seriously?

I'm not saying he should WIN it since Dirk and Nash are the clear cut favorites but I object to players like Kobe, LeBron, Wade, Arenas, etc all being considered finalists without not one mention of how T-Mac has saved our season and played either right at or around the level of the "secondary candidates".

    GIVE THE MAN SOME LOVE!!!!!!!!

Misses too many games (I haven't heard DWade mentioned in MVP discussions either).

He's missed what, eight games? Is that really a big deal when deciding especially since the premise of my argument is not so much about season long consistency but more so about the timing of his incredible play. He was out with the back injury when Yao got hurt -- everybody just assumed that was our kiss of death and a repeat of 05/06. Then he comes back and leads us to an impressive 10-5 record.

As for Wade, I haven't heard him mentioned yet either but you know Miami is going to have a strong second half. If that happens you can pencil him in as a finalist since he's basically the posterchild of the league.

Missing 8 games of 42 is almost 20%. If he misses 8 games in the second half (or possibly even more, never know with his back) then he won't get mentioned with the like of Bryant and Arenas who are putting up better numbers and playing in more games, especially with the Lakers having a better record and the Wizards leading their division. I'm not saying that it's right, I'm just saying that is why he doesn't get mentioned (possibly).

On that Duncan fake pass that "fooled" Mutombo I could have sworn I heard a whistle, which is why I thought Mutombo turned around.

The way Tracy, and alston bounced back from the fiasco that was the denver game was magnaficent. showed those 2 have got what it takes to be leaders and carry us. tracy is the most underrated leader in the league.

    GREAT game boys!

My wife thought it was interesting that the night Shaq comes back Hayes plays without his knee brace....hmmmm.

The only thing that worried me in this game was witnessing the Rafer/Head arguement just before Tracy had that TO in the backcourt. Anybody else catch that?

    Again, GREAT game!

That was extremely funny. He was the only one jumping up and down waving his hands in that entire section. That's one die hard fan!!!

I posted prior to the season the Spurs would falter and fall behind the Mavs and Suns. If they don't make a trade, the Spurs will definitely not make the Finals. Right now, they are the 4th-6th best team in the west behind the Suns, Mavs, Rockets and (maybe) the Jazz and Lakers.

How to stop and slow them? tight the D on the ball handler? D from they through the ball into the court, just like last few minutes Spurs did to us?
