    SONICS COACH BOB HILL:
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    On the game:
I didn't think we'd have any more injuries and, voila, Earl’s (Watson) ankle is pretty big. Mike Wilks did a phenomenal job; he really did. That's the most minutes I think he's played since he's been a Sonic. We just had droughts where we couldn't make shots and then we had droughts where we really scored.

Defensively I thought we did a good job. We didn't want to double-team Yao (Ming), they're such a good three-point shooting team. They get them out of the pick-and-rolls and they get them out of the double teams. They didn't shoot very well from three. One of goals was to take them out of that and we won the boards. Under the circumstances I thought we played really well.

(Chris) Wilcox was aggressive and wanted the ball. He didn't have as much success as the game progresses as he did early, and that was out of the pick-and-roll. I thought we did awfully well.

On the defense played on Rashard Lewis:
(Shane) Battier and (Tracy) McGrady guarded him and we had to be careful how we got him the ball. He got some good looks he just didn't shoot real well. I also thought he should have gone to the foul line. He took a couple of tough ones, but I thought in the first half he was active, and moving, and coming out of the pick and rolls he was getting good looks. I think it had to do as much with their defense as he didn't shoot as well tonight.

On the point guard situation for Wednesday in Phoenix:
    Anybody want to play?

Sign a 10-day. We'll look into bringing someone in to help us. We talked about it today. Hopefully someone can meet us in Phoenix.

    GUARD MIKE WILKS:
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    On the game:
It's been a long year. We lost Luke (Ridnour), we lost Ray (Allen), and then Earl and (Robert) Swift. I just wanted to go out there and take my time. I knew I was going to have the opportunity to play, since they really didn't have any other options. I just did what I normally do and get guys shots. And then just take the shot when I had it. Most of the time this year when I've been able to play, good things have happened.
I was loving it. They kept asking me how I felt and my body feels good and I wasn't really that tired. This game I was able to pace myself. I just had to know when to push it and when to pull it out. I felt pretty good.

HOUSTON HEAD COACH JEFF VAN GUNDY:
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On the game and going to the playoffs:
You never know. You just, day to day try to keep working at everything and try to get a little bit better.
I think we just hung on tonight. We got a couple rebounds and a couple stops. We made a few free throws. Not all of them but a few of them.

    On the flagrant foul:
In those situations you have to play with poise. We made our free throws and I think we scored so that is the best way to respond. You have to play with poise and play as efficient as possible.

    On the Sonics:
I was very impressed with them. I think they are under manned right now and he has them battling really hard.

    GUARD TRACY MCGRADY:
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On the flagrant foul by Nick Collison:
I felt like that was an unnecessary foul. In that situation who knows what can happen to our big fella. Something can happen to his knee or something or he could get a dislocation or something like that. Really anything and that’s why I acted the way I acted. I just felt like it was an unnecessary foul. I felt like we reacted well and in the heat of the battle you have to move forward.

    CENTER YAO MING:
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On responding to the flagrant foul:
In that situation I just want to put the ball in the hole. I just try to put every ball in the hole. Every time I touch the ball I try to do that…That was my reaction.

On McGrady getting a technical foul:
I was on the ground but I heard that he got a fine but that is called a teammate. He really stands up for me and I appreciate that.
