No, what he meant was that home court advantage does not influence by playoffs seeding, but by regular-season record seeding.

But if that home court advantage is up for grap, Kings will be the first one to get it, not us.

    Sonics remaining schedule:

    Mon 11 Houston
    Wed 13 Dallas
    Fri 15 New Orleans
    Sun 17 @ Minnesota
    Tue 19 @ Dallas
    Wed 20 @ Houston

I would say it's very possible Sonics go 1-4 and finish at 51-31, if we win all of our remaining games, our record will be the same, but we own the tie breaker. Although it is unlikely, but technically it's still possible. ;)

Not necessarily. Matchups are still be decided by the seedings. IF EVERYTHING

Meant to say IF everything goes our way perfectly, we still have a chance.

Division leaders automatically get the top 3 seeds. Look at what happens in Eastern Conference.

Funny thing about the Rockets is: Our home and road records are almost the same. Home-court might not even be an "advantage" per se.

Then again, during the playoffs the Toyota Center will actually have people in it. :p

    Seedings determine matchups.

    Records determine home-court.

"....Home-court advantage in all playoff series is determined by better won-lost record, not higher seeding."

And to think only 2 teams in the (l)east have better records than the Rox current at 6 in the West, Miami and Detroit 1 and 2 respectfully.

    Sorry, my bad.

At this point, given the banged up conditions of the players, I am willing to accept any results in playoff; plus Rockets' home and road record are pretty much the same, and also their records to the top 5 teams in western conference are pretty much the same, so it doesn't really matter who they play and who get the home-court advantage. I know it will make a difference, but I just don't feel much difference between 1st and 2nd round exit.

Again, as long as they play hard, I will accept whatever results in playoff.

I heard that on 610. If the Rockets win their remaining 5 and Seattle wins no more than 1 game the rest of the way, Houston would have a better record. Of course, if the Rockets win the rest of their games, they'll likely finish ahead of Sacramento which renders the whole thing moot.

Anybody else seeing a quicker and more aggresive Yao tonight?

He even shoved James out of the way to deny the fronting... alas, we're still losing the game early, but still nice to see what Yao does with full aggresion.

Well, he was on the first two posessions... then fatigue probably set in a little.

He's back to normal Yao now. ;)
