He is turning into a real superstar, which is fantastic, but we need our normal T-Mac back to make it to playoff.
Refs were bad tonight, well, I guess a little better than those officiating Superbowl yesterday. AI was untouchable, he made like 20+ free throws which is more than the whole Rockets team attempted.
Exactly. We probably didn't need the rebounding. Yeah yeah I can see we were outrebounded, but they turned it over too much for them to take any shots to miss for us to get the rebounds . He also brings hustle, which is always good, but it wasn't necessary tonight. I guess Van Gundy didn't trust Chuck Hayes to guard Chris Webber, seeing as Hayes is severely underexperienced to guard such a veteran. However, it's not like Swift or Howard exactly shut him down either...All that can be said is Van Gundy did the right thing because Webber's play wasn't game deciding. Speaking of Van Gundy doing things right, his style of coaching may not be the prettiest on offense, but come on! Forcing 24 TO's and holding the opponent to .333% shooting on the night!?!? That's good stuff. We came out with the win, and doesn't matter what style you play, that's what counts at the end of the day/season.
What wild speculation or conspiracy did I say? You say it is what it is. It is Hayes making mental mistakes and we all know JVG will not put up with that and will sit that player. I don't think there is any 'showcasing' of Swift gowing on. And, the game dictated the distribution? Both Swift & Howard had 4 fouls in the 3rd quarter. We needed Hayes tonight.
Since Yao's return, the Rockets have not allowed a team to reach 90 pts. This is the not so glorious part of his game that is just as significant as his scoring output. Mcgrady and Yao are not one dimensional players is what makes them real superstars. They are two-way players, so if they struggle a little here and there on the offense side, they lead their team to victory by defending. There's not any superstar duo's with a pair of better all around games than that of Mcgrady's and Yao's.
Prior to today's game, Dalembert is averaging 11pts 11rebs 3blks the last 5 games and he is also averaging 11pts 11rebs 3blks for the entire month of January. Dont think he is a fluke. He is a STUD!
1. 42% aint bad, If Tracy had a better night it wouldn't have been close. 2. Yao actually looked fresher at the end of the game than the 1st quarter. The Sixers played pretty up tempo the first 10 minutes and Yao was winded, JVG pulled him about then. 3. I thought the Sixers made the Rox look better than they were on defense with bad passes and sloppy ball handling. RA had a career high 5 steals because the Sixers were showing the ball for too much. The Sixers just went cold in the 4th, looked like there was lid on the basket. 4. Webber and Dalembert were boxing out really well together, keeping the Rox off the boards. Looking at the box score, I thought it was the number of steals that we had that was the reason but they only took 4 fewer shots. 5. Tracy had a rough game, he was really running around out there trying to get free from the Philly defenders. They didn't double him but his man didn't let him breath. 6. Do you have to ask that, its Stro.
More good news -- New Orleans, and Seattle both lost tonight. Utah is trailing Chicago but its a close game...
I stand corrected. Just checked his game log and season long stats. Not bad. Seems like every time I closely examined a Sixers box score before today, Dalembert stunk it up. Overall, he's decent. If he develops a consistent offensive game, he will turn into a stud. He's not there yet, but I like him. With AI, Korver, CWebb, AI2 & Dalembert, the Sixers have some potential, but I don't think Mo Cheeks is the guy to lead them. I don't think he will bring out the best in Dalembert, AI2 & Korver. Maybe this is just me, but AI2 seems like he could be a lot better than he is. Maybe I'm wrong.
Actually that part was not directed towards you - someone else was slanting that way (with the mention of possible trade bait or showcasing) and apologize if you misunderstood me.
Go, Chicago! (playing Utah) Go, Denver! (playing Golden State) Go, Phoenix! (playing Minnesota) This could turn out to be a VERY good evening!
Seriously guys, this game should not have even been CLOSE if it wasn't for the phantom calls by the stupid refs against the Rox everytime AI drove inside and no one touched him. A win is a win
